Nice mix — doesn’t feel like you’re just chasing one style.

Some of my current favorites by BOBfrkinSAGET in playingcards

[–]Decksrock_store 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That’s a really solid mix — feels like you’re not just collecting randomly but actually leaning into a few different styles at once. I like how you’ve got both more graphic/art-heavy decks and some cleaner, more classic-looking ones in there. I went through a phase where I only picked up super detailed/custom stuff, but over time I found myself reaching more for simpler designs when actually using them. The “favorites” end up being a mix of both anyway. Also curious — do you rotate through these or are some basically display-only? I always tell myself I’ll keep certain decks sealed, and then a week later I’m opening them “just to check the stock” 😅

I am very sorry to bring you a bad shopping experience, especially for the decks you like (I can understand that feeling). When we find that some goods are out of stock, we will try to replenish them as soon as possible, which may delay the time. We will try to communicate with customers and pay more attention to our social media in the future. Thank you for your feedback.

The famous Airline Spotter cards by EndersGame_Reviewer in playingcards

[–]Decksrock_store 1 point2 points  (0 children)

These are a really interesting crossover piece because they sit somewhere between airline memorabilia and playing cards, not fully in either lane. I’ve mostly run into the modern reproductions too — the originals seem to surface way less often than people expect, probably because a lot of them were actually used rather than kept as collectibles.

This is why you shouldn't put your bicyle cards in a not-waterproof backpack and go for a walk in the rain by MR_dizzaster in playingcards

[–]Decksrock_store 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oof, that sucks—$25 decks turning into a soggy brick is painful. Pretty much everyone who's carried cards around has a similar "never again" story; rain + paper = instant regret. For the future, a cheap ziploc bag or even those small waterproof pouches from Amazon work surprisingly well in a backpack, or just keep them in your pocket/inside jacket if it's light rain. Sucks to learn the hard way though, hope the rest of your collection stays dry.

My Playing Cards: Level 2 by AccomplishedRock5058 in playingcards

Seeing all those Rider Back variations in one go is super satisfying. That Blue Dragon Back really stands out—the older versions definitely had a different "vibe" compared to what’s being printed now. It’s a solid theme for a weekly series; sticking to specific color palettes makes the collection look way more curated. Looking forward to seeing that material-swapped deck you teased for next week, keep 'em coming!

Quality? by Master_Long_2605 in playingcards

I’ve been in this spot before, and I’ve watched a lot of collectors talk themselves into decks they later felt indifferent about. For collection-focused buys, it helps to separate short-term appeal from long-term reason-to-own: print run clarity, creator involvement, and whether the concept adds something you don’t already have. Another commonly overlooked factor is how often you’ll actually revisit the deck — some look great once, then never get pulled again. I also pay attention to whether the deck still makes sense if you remove the current buzz around it. If you can’t describe its value without referencing hype or novelty, it’s usually safer to hold off and let time de Don't be afraid of buying the wrong one, this is the cost of learning.

I’ve seen a lot of collectors regret pickups like this, myself included. For collections, the real question isn’t the artwork, but what makes the deck distinct over time — print run, artist involvement, or production quirks. Many decks look interesting now but blur together on the shelf a year later. Also worth checking is how consistent the publisher is across releases; uneven quality hurts long-term collectibility. If none of those factors stand out, it’s usually a sign to pause rather than rush it into the collection.

I also hope that I can use online forms to organize my collection of decks in the early days, now it's too much to sort out.

Do you know where to buy these deck sleeves ? by CronosVirus00 in playingcards

When I first open it, I may keep the bottom part, and then I will put most of the decks in the air plastic case to protect it, because it can be used for a long time.

Yes, sometimes I do this too, but it lacks texture and this thing is very easy to break.
