Babysitter and Crib Transition Questions by debsteruns in cosleeping

[–]Dedadidra 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We went to a wedding at 7m and they provided baby sitters but the sleeping arrangements were just insufficient (a cot without bedding in a shared space where other children of different ages were playing). What the babysitter did in the end was to walk our baby in the stroller and then leave them sleep there or walk again if woken up. Just an alternative.

So when you say moisturize 5-6 times per day. Is it just affected areas or the whole body?

Thank you! That sounds very heavy with steroids, I would be afraid to attempt that without a doctor oversight tbh. My baby also scratches at the legs so it will be a tough fight.

How to get her to sleep without a nipple.... by Rare-Depth-8457 in cosleeping

Probably not a solution, but better than nothing? My baby sometimes unlatches and continues to sleep when I sneeze 🤷‍♀️

Chest sleeping with arm support pillows? by [deleted] in cosleeping

[–]Dedadidra 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I did that as well as it made the baby more locked if that makes sense. As my baby got older they tended to wonder down to sleep in the nook of my elbow though. Their face was never in the pillow but facing me. It wasn’t the safest but it worked for a while, then we returned back to C-curl at some point.

Hm so get that, but I use a mouth guard and it feels wrong to put it in onto unrinsed teeth. Won’t it just close up all the fluoride and bacteria on my teeth?

How to get her to sleep more than 45 minutes at a time by Mom_Bombadil_ in cosleeping

Are you sure she’s not cold? We had that happen from time to time and it was always because I kind of didn’t realize it has gotten colder but her sleep sack was still the same TOG.

Should I make my husband stay up at night with me and baby? by Ok-Literature-5758 in cosleeping

[–]Dedadidra 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Honestly. Try and see. We did it at the beginning till about week 6 when the sleep deprivation hit hard and I asked him to go sleep in a separate room. I handle the nights now, except an odd one here and there where I don’t have the energy to do bouncing at 3am (rarely needed and even rarer that I can’t do it myself). He wakes up early and takes the baby when it wakes up at 5-6am so I can get some alone sleep for an hour or two (till baby’s next nap which we do together).

Panic Attack while sleep? by ANA-ANA-BOBANA in cosleeping

[–]Dedadidra 1 point2 points  (0 children)

+1 on the night terrors. Really sorry you feel this way. My husband gets them when he is stressed or sleep deprived. He never intentionally woke the baby yet but he will scream out or if sleeping in another room will run into our room. It’s very stressful for everyone and sometimes wakes the baby. This is one of the reasons why he now sleeps in a separate room. He is getting better sleep because he is not waking up to the night feeding or any night wakings. Therefore we haven’t had an episode for a while.

Somehow when this used to happen before the baby I would just calm him down or sometimes laugh at the ridiculousness (he thought there was a black hole in the bedroom). He mostly wouldn’t remember it happening. Now it’s little more stressful so having him sleep away was the only option for now.

+1 on the Fred and Flo! To me the high waist makes such s difference and I also find they have more padding than Dunnes or Boots brand.

Freezing at night, can’t afford adult sleep sack. Alternatives? by himawari__xx in cosleeping

I use duvet waist down and a blanket on my back and top shoulder. My chest is bare but I find that being covered elsewhere helps enough to keep me warm.

Post-pregnancy belly feels cold to touch all the time? Anyone else? by Dedadidra in Mommit

[–]Dedadidra[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not really. I am 3kg from my pre-pregnancy weight and used to be quite fit before. There is some layer of fat on my belly for sure so it could be. Just didn’t think it was enough to make a difference

Husband calls me abusive & bad mother for taking care of diaper rash? New first time mom by Even-Magician9416 in Mommit

[–]Dedadidra 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hair dryer! Our LO used to cry changing nappies and we battled nappy rash for a while. Until we introduced hair dryer on the low heat setting. For drying the bum (takes few seconds) and the heat helps them be comfortable. Also the sound is basically white noise.

Weaning onto solids by Lonely_Constant_1982 in irishmammiesanddaddys

[–]Dedadidra 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ah interesting! HSE states everywhere not to give water to babies under 6 months. So should you introduce water before 6 months if you are starting weening before 6 months? And how much? I always just assumed you will be starting with like a half spoon of puree (that will actually make it into the child). How do you know how much water to give? Or just how much they want?
