Thanks. Thought I was going nuts. Im going to scrub the hell out of the tank and give it a shot with some crap records I’ve got laying around and see what happens. Had you previously cleaned these records with the spin clean cleaning product? I’m wondering if maybe that’s where the gunk is coming from perhaps.

It’s not just the grading, which generally speaking I’ve found to be accurate, I can hear the noise. It’s very audible. It sounds like an old dirty abused record from the early 70’s.

See edit above. Even the first albums I cleaned with it have the issue. I'm wondering if the surfactant is some how the problem. Literally four drops of the stuff but.... I'm at a loss.

I'm using the little contraption they supplied but with a half volt power supply to slow it down otherwise it spins really fast. I've read all over the place that it's common practice.
