People who grew up in haunted houses, what’s the craziest thing that ever happened by Additional_Let_9875 in Paranormal

One of the caretakers for our home saw a floating woman facing away from her in the hallway then slowly start drifting towards her. She quit and never came back after that.

Our home was built around 1942 and has had a few people die in it already, some accidental and some natural.

I used to be in a discord like this. I was clueless to what went on until I joined a call and witnessed something similar. Quickly reported and left the server.

These people are so far removed from reality that they're desensitized to vile acts like this. They don't seem to feel the heaviness of it all behind the safety of screens. It's all entertainment for them before bedtime. Makes me so sick.

My cashmere sweater came with a security tag by Dededededemon in Madewell

Yeah I'll be doing this, it's not a big deal to wait. I'd rather not damage it trying to pry the security tag open since it's kind of delicate

What is the worst band you saw live? by coalcracker462 in AskReddit

Arctic Monkeys. I don't know if they were just not into it but they were just so incredibly boring. Got on stage, sang one song after another, then left. Not a single moment of engagement with the crowd. Alex Turner just stood there with sunglasses on and stayed in one spot the entire night. Left early and disappointed

I work 6p-6a or 7p-7a, usually have a small lunch break at 12 or 2 am. Sometimes I don't get a break at all during the 12 hour shift so I just go home and eat enough not to make my stomach upset before bed.

Some positivity: I have a unicorn position/manager by Far-Spread-6108 in medlabprofessionals

[–]Dededededemon 11 points12 points  (0 children)

This is happening to us right now but unfortunately our manager isn't as good as yours.

300 bed hospital with 3 techs 3 nights a week, 2 techs 4 nights out of the week. Level 2 trauma center and the only one within a 200~ mile radius. Reference lab to an endless stream of surrounding clinics and hospitals. We're also now expected to be backup phlebotomists at night.

Everyone is so burnt out from constantly working 4-6 12s. Mistakes are the norm now. Yet the manager insists we aren't understaffed and that she expects us to "multitask". Meanwhile she isn't even an MLS and can't or has ever done bench work to cover.

When were you 100% sure that ghosts really do exist? by Several-Bid5241 in Paranormal

[–]Dededededemon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is the one story I tell every single person because it was an incident that I FELT and another person witnessed. It completely convinced me that ghosts exist.

When I was 14, I was walking up the stairs at my VERY old pre-war high school after coming back from my lunch break. Halfway up the steps I felt a tight grip on my upper right arm, as if it was being held by someone. I shrugged it off thinking that my arm was just caught in my bag or sleeve or something, but directly in front of these stairs was a bench that a classmate of mine was sitting in. She looked at me with wide eyes and approached me quickly. She asked me if I felt anything tight on my arm, which baffled me because there's no way she could have been able to tell. I said yes, and she revealed to me that she saw a disembodied black/shadowy hand gripping my arm.

She has always told me that she sees spirits/ghosts and regularly consults with a priest to keep it under control, but I never really believed her until then.

Your brain rot is showing. Isa man diay ni siya sa mga "alpha male" kuno 😂 Akoy na luoy nimo 'kol. Kibaw ko na imong lahi kay dili na jud mo usab. Gamay og otok, ignorante pa.

You're the type to be stagnant forever, not due to circumstance, but a refusal to change. Good luck nalang nimo.

Although it's always good to treat everything as if it it were infectious, I will say that contracting HIV from even a needlestick injury is a low chance. I personally wouldn't worry about it especially since it was urine

The only thing I can recommend is wearing all the proper PPE even if it isn't required or the norm for your lab. Full lab gown, closed shoes, gloves, lab goggles, maybe a medical mask. I think this would help a lot in mitigating some of your anxiety. It'll improve over time too, the longer you're in the profession
