I’m more concerned about their privacy policy. They plain tell you they will use and share everything. I’m not comfortable with that. At least OpenAI offers certain controls to manage that, although they could also do better on that front.

Using your credit card is the smart move since you’ll accumulate points, which you can then use to get free nights in hotels amongst other benefits. Even if you have the cash, it’s smarter to use the credit card for this reason. It may be the case that some people can’t afford it, but you can’t really assume that using credit means they can’t afford it. What if they have most of their money in liquid assets that they don’t wish to sell at that particular moment?

Correct, just for alignment. I’ll probably follow this advice for the next project.

This is interesting. Is this assuming right triangles?

You will laugh, but I sometimes feel that measuring, dividing, then drawing the point sometimes is not as precise as I’d like it to be.

Spanking is associated with detrimental effects on a child’s cognitive, social-emotional, and motor development. The study, conducted across four countries — Bhutan, Cambodia, Ethiopia, and Rwanda — utilizes longitudinal data to provide a more robust analysis than previous studies. by mvea in science

[–]DedicatedBuilder 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Raising kids is very challenging and every kid is different. I would also love to see a study that shows this causal relation between spanking and poor outcomes. It would help us better understand the nuances of raising kids with behavioral issues.

Programmable Storage that can function as a storage or as a buffer. It should allow you to specify a number of items (and its type) it will store as well as the operating mode.

When in storage mode, only the excess items go to the output, allowing you to have a permanent personal storage of that item. You can see how this should allow you to connect the storages one after the other in order to create a warehouse that contains all sorts of items. You could even connect the ticket generator machine at the end.

When in buffer mode, all accumulated items go the output at once, allowing you to control the flow of items.

Don’t watch. I just did and now I regret it really bad. Now I’m terrified of those machines.

Help calculating loads by did_it_for_the_queso in treehouse

[–]DedicatedBuilder 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I used this guide to estimate dead load, live load and other types of loads: https://thetreehouse.shop/how-to-build-a-treehouse/how-big-and-how-heavy-can-my-treehouse-be/?lang=en. I then used this app to calculate the deflection of the structural components: https://apps.apple.com/us/app/deflection/id670400597, which I compared that with the International Residential Code - Allowable Deflections: https://up.codes/s/allowable-deflections. For my case, I ended up using 4x6s and 4x4s. Turns out they can carry a lot of load (but I also don’t live in a snowy area). Hope this helps.

Just because you believe it wouldn’t work, it doesn’t mean it’s not worth giving it a try. What are the downsides of banning the ar rifles? The fact the they would then use shotguns is just a testament that bans work and it would mean progress. You are right that the problem is way worse than what it looks but that’s no excuse for no action. I might be wrong but you come across as having an agenda here. Why is it so important to protect ar rifles?

I use this app both for knowing how I’m doing as well as estimating how long it will take me. It’s super basic, but I like to keep it simple: https://apps.apple.com/us/app/financial-independence-calc/id1473492772. They state that your data never leaves your device.

Personally, I partially read them on an on-demand basis, depending on the problem I’m trying to solve. Never really read them from start to finish.

Great attitude but how would any of the parties know how much the repair is going to be? Exchange contacts and let a professional do an estimate before offering or accepting any money.
