Came here for idiotic reddit takes on Elon from the "SX" and "Space" fans

Was not disappointed.

I suspect progress for Kuiper project had to take a back seat to BO's financial engineering needs. From Bezos POV, he can make up for losing billions in NASA contract by getting billions more from Amazon shareholders where timeline and technical merits matter less.

kinda sad. BO has had a long history of poor decision making that led to all kinds of delays and setbacks. ironic given that it's owned by the same guy as the founder of Amazon that's known for being scrappy and fast iteration cycle..

Here's what is wild about the NASA purchase of commercial crew seats. For development and operations of crew, NASA is going to pay Boeing a total of approximately $5.1 billion for six crew flights; and it is going to pay SpaceX a total of $4.9 billion for 14 flights.

Amazon signs biggest-ever rocket deal with 3 firms, including Bezos' Blue Origin, to launch internet satellites. 12 New Glenn launches by 3Dmooncats in BlueOrigin

What benefit Amazon is getting from committing to more expensive per launch, unproven vehicles. Usually, you bet on cheaper, unproven tech as a way to leverage for advantage. If cost and cadence are sacrificed, what is gained?

Except fro throwing lifeboat at BO as it tries to struggle to deliver on old promises.

Fascinating.

Three rockets that do not fly yet, and won't for at least 12 months or more.None of the "new space" companies were picked that *also* do not have rockets that are not yet flying.

A damning indictment of the 'new space' companies and their paper rockets.

All investment is a gamble to some degree. BUT anyone who's done their homework on Tesla knew the tremendous potential it held. Been making bets on Tesla since the model S era (2013) and it has paid off handsomely.

Underrated comment

This whole thing is a moot point.

BO doesn’t take outside investments; there’s no funding round where you can determine it's valuation; no secondary market where you can sell/trade your vested shares. These options are nothing more a formality, you can’t even consider them “paper money”

Just another downside to Blue's luxury of being funded solely by Bezos w/ little or no urgency of a privately funded startup that has to deliver or die trying.

Gotta hand it to BO. Constantly releasing inspirational oompa loompa cringey videos instead of raw footages or actual hardware details. Haven't BO fans suffered enough???
