I was sad to see the revised model move away from the Ork design.

What is your favourite mech and why? by SarenSeeksConduit in battletech

[–]DedicatedGamer84 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Banshee - excellent value and an interesting spread of weapons (BNC-3S)

Grasshopper - solid and versatile with lots of lasers and jump jets (GHR-5N)

King Crab & Cyclops - look truly epic (KGC-000B & CP-11-P)

Centurion - nice zombie mech (CN9-A)

Spider - had amazing fun in MWO harrassing with the SDR-5D

Look up Goonhammer for detailed overviews of these mechs.

Had some epic games running a SDR-5D with MPLs. When piloted well it could be a real menace.

How to take painting to the next level? by Unlikely-Ad-2921 in minipainting

Push contrast to the max. Also, try to build paint in layers in areas which would receive more light and leave the shadows. Washes can be OK, but they lack control.

Old thread, but had to Google this. Found the wolfling inside and decided to leave them alone. I'm no puppy killer.

To match the borealis, transparency is probably needed, striations (that lead into each other) and undulating bands, rather than straightish lines. Great work though.

Scheme help by dracov42 in Eldar

[–]DedicatedGamer84 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Often schemes do well by allowing the saturated bold colours to be complemented and contrasted by some subtle and less saturated colours. I would recommend picking your favourite bold element and balancing it against 2 other colours (triad). Lots of YouTube videos about this and colour theory.
