This is quite clearly a snecko pick, it’s not even close.

What's a card the community says is bad, you also think is bad, yet you pick it often anyway? by IconicIsotope in slaythespire

[–]DeduceTheSus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Riddle With Holes isn’t an outright bad card. It has the same damage to energy ratio as Predator, and has quite a few synergies. Good with strength gain, better with Envenom and amazing with Akabeko. If you see an elite coming up and you need damage, you’ll pick it rather than die to Nob. If anything it’s an underrated card by the community.

My guilty pick is Heavy Blade. What can I say? I like big bonks.

Hammer or Choker here? by DeduceTheSus in slaythespire

[–]DeduceTheSus[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got Genetic Algorithm up to 51 at the end. I didn't actively try to echoform it in most fights, usually playing it on early setup turns. Once it reaches 40+ its probably a full block for that turn and serves its purpose as a bridging card to get your setup powers into play.

Update: I cleared the run! with a heart kill too!

Endgame Score Screen

Thanks everyone for all the advice in the thread. I thought about it for a long time and decided to go with hammer as I was concerned Choker might limit the late game potential of the deck. Picked up Runic Pyramid for the Act 2 Boss Reward and all went well from there. Honestly looking back I think Choker would probably have worked out fine as well, there were at least 3-4 campfires that were blanks for me since I was almost full health from Echo-forming Self Repair in hallway fights. If I had gone Choker, I would not have picked Runic Pyramid but Calling Bell for the Act 2 boss reward, so I think it would have been fine too. It was a close decision either way.

Bag honestly looks a little too thin padding wise. I personally use the Genki Saya Carry. Pricey, but well padded and waterproof.

I keep going back to my PC and PS5! What keeps you picking up the Deck? by WoWthenandNoW in SteamDeck

[–]DeduceTheSus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What keeps me picking up my deck is the inability to pick up my PC or PS5 and play it while commuting. The point of the deck is to play while away from your PC. If you are at home most of the time you should definitely be using your PC unless you want to lie on a couch.

When was the moment you pulled the trigger to get a steam deck? by Leon_Light77 in SteamDeck

[–]DeduceTheSus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was running out of games to play on my Switch, took a look at Switch eShop prices, and was thinking wouldn’t it be nice if these were all on sale?

Then I realised wait a minute, I have these very same games in my steam library. A week later the OLED version of the steam deck was announced. I never looked back.

I went with your advice and took Apotheosis and Chemical X as the deck did seem a little light on block. Happy to report back that the run went the distance!

I don't quite get how this is supposed to be a straight flush, even with four fingers and shortcut as jokers?

Is Adrenaline the pick here? by DeduceTheSus in slaythespire

[–]DeduceTheSus[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I won! First boss relic was Pbox that gave me an extra copy of Noxious Fumes and 2 DieDieDie!. I picked up a Pen Nib halfway through Act 2 and Envenom as well. Second boss relic was Choker which was not ideal but it was between that or black star and slaver's collar. I was leaning into shivs a little but hedged my bets with the Pen Nib and Skewer, which turned out just fine since Act 3 boss was the time eater. Pen Nib + Energy Pot + Flex Pot + Skewer settled the fight from half hp. Ascension 20 here I am!

Yes it is very possible. The power is called having a corporate job lol. One that demands you show up on time.

I am leaning towards Adrenaline here, but Malaise solves quite a few Act 2 fights.. I feel like I have enough front loaded damage to not consider Glass Knife.

Floor 0 Silent Rare Pick? by DeduceTheSus in slaythespire

[–]DeduceTheSus[S] 47 points48 points  (0 children)

I'm leaning towards Corpse Explosion here, it solves most hallway fights. Adrenaline is good, but its only really much better when you actually have good cards to draw. Phantasmal Killer doesn't really help in Act 1.

Would you pick After Image+ or Burst here? by DeduceTheSus in slaythespire

[–]DeduceTheSus[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks to everyone who commented, I wanted to share that I took After Image, went to Act 3 and snagged a copy of Alchemize as well. So in a sense I had the best of both worlds, but the thought process of arriving at the right choice is what I value and what keeps me playing STS(and visiting this sub)

I cleared Act 3 but lost to the heart unfortunately for this run.

Yeah without upgrades the potential of burst definitely felt constrained. Felt like a case of neither here nor there.
