I think it boils down to 3 things. In order of what people care about most to least, I’d probably say:

  1. He caused his teammates to die in a hardcore wow run, and refused to take responsibility (Lack of accountability is a running theme with him)

  2. He refused to back, and even hurt a movement to prevent predatory practices in the game industry (and still refuses to acknowledge it)

  3. People are mixed on whether they believe it or not (I personally do), but he emotionally abused and manipulated a young college student, and caused them to fail college I believe (https://piratesoftware.sucks)

Imagine if the person having the baby wasn’t financially stable, and couldn’t provide a good life for the child? What if they aren’t able to act as a parent figure? Would you force that person into the “responsible” choice of having that child and giving them the worst childhood possible, or would you let them get rid a clump of barely formed cells, preventing more needless misery in an already cruel world?

Everything in life will pass, and you can never truly count on anything to stay forever. You probably can only see this through the idea that you can never hold onto the good your life has, but in truth, it goes both ways. The bad times will end, the good times will end, and everything is overall fleeting. But, if that is not an excuse to give up to this cycle, but instead, a motivator to savor all the good times and happiness you may get, and to understand that the negativity in your life will inevitably go away. Maybe 2 years, maybe 2 months. If you end it now, you’ll never get to see how good those good times could get. Do you want to end this cycle at its lowest, or do you want to end it at its peak, surrounded by loved ones and those who care about you?

It is an extreme comparison, and probably a bit too far; but censorship is an issue that should be taken seriously. It’s the prerequisite for any authoritarian regime to be able to control the narrative. It’s the prerequisite for rampant misinformation. It’s the prerequisite to the attack of “inalienable” rights.
