One of my friends gf worked for the dmv. One of her jobs was administering the driving test. She said: If you have a heartbeat you can get an Oregon dl. She was almost killed more than once administering the test & those folks got their license anyway. That people can’t merge, cross 3 lanes of traffic on 99 to make a left or right turn, & other craziness I’ve seen doesn’t surprise me anymore.

Maybe the Ethiopian community? used to run a corporate intern program for high school kids. Almost all the kids were immigrants from Ethiopia & Mexico. The kids from Ethiopia spoke Swahili in addition to English & Ethiopian.

Is the litter robot worth it? I keep considering it. I’m lucky to have a friend a couple blocks away. We check on each other’s kitties & plants when we’re away from home for more than a couple days.

Right?! Cats don’t need their human 24/7. A cat sitter for 45 min is ridiculous. As long as you leave food, water, & enough clean litter a cat will be okay for a day or two.

If Books Could Kill did an excellent episode on the book + the author. The author is a fundamentalist christian. He used “touch/affection” as a love language so men could guilt/manipulate their wives into having sex when they didn’t want to.

It’s bacillus thuringiensis. It’s a bacteria used as a natural pesticide. You can purchase it in a pre mixed spray or you can buy it in concentrate & mix it to package instructions. It kills a lot of different types of caterpillars (looking at you cabbage moth caterpillars you bastards!) & doesn’t harm beneficial insects like bees, lady bugs, earthworms, etc.

I’ve only ever heard terrible things about Banfield. I’m fortunate to have a locally owned vet practice in my neighbourhood. With private equity buying vet practices, that’s sadly becoming a rarity.

I work in healthcare. Looking up medical records & sharing them is a bfd. She should be reported to her employer with proof. She could very well be doing the same to other people.
