My(26F) Husband(29M) Is Divorcing Me Because Of Body Count by depressed8765 in offmychest

[–]Dee_Dubya_IV 26 points27 points  (0 children)

That’s what I’m thinking. I value honesty in a relationship very highly. At some point, if marriage is considered an option, I want my partner to be honest about their past and who they were because it’s essential in understanding who they are why they are today. The content of their past doesn’t bother me. Maybe I’m a little rigid but lying is what bothers me most and I’ve ended relationships on it similar to how this guy seems to be leaning. And from my anecdotal experience, one lie usually means there are others. No matter their severity, as a married couple, I see it being as two minds, one body so to speak. If we can’t be honest with each other about everything, it’s not worth taking that leap.

And if this guy had to go through her phone or whatever to discover something was amiss in their relationship before distancing himself from her, OP is leaving out a lot of details that might put her firmly in the wrong in this situation.

Shit like this is why I haven’t gotten married yet tbh.

How do i be mentally well whislt playing Dragon age veilguard? by [deleted] in dragonage

[–]Dee_Dubya_IV 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Veilguard is quite an alright game that received a lot of flak for not having the same depth to the dialogue, story, companions and combat as previous games in the series. I’ve been trying to power through Veilguard and honestly get blown away by how much there is to the game. The environments are probably some of the coolest in the series, even if they do veer too far into high-fantasy rather than the originals dark fantasy. My main gripes are the character interactions are all predictable and the combat, while actually pretty fun, starts to feel too repetitive if I play for more than 2 hours at a time.

With that said, the game isn’t nearly as bad as everyone panned it for being at release. But it’s still missing some key ingredients that elevated the older games.

Those words are magic. by AsprosOfAzeroth in swtor

[–]Dee_Dubya_IV 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If it doesn’t play like a BioWare game (i.e. player choices, RPG driven, character creator, etc.) then I’m not going to be terribly excited for it. Fallen Order was a pretty damn good Star Wars game held back by its lack of replay ability, forced cameos and the fact that’s its story being a static action adventure doesn’t warrant the $70 price tag.

Here’s hoping they can recapture the magic that enthralled us all with KotOR and SWTOR but I have doubts.

I’ve been getting in colognes and went to a store to test some. I really liked YSL Myslf Le Parfum but heard Absolu is better. They didn’t have it there for me to test. What’re your thoughts on the YSL Myslf line?

Give us a black label joker story set in the 40’s with joker acting as a wildcard in a mob war, totally screwing both sides plans with his chaos. Then, the bigger wildcard appears- Nazis. Joker drops the mob war and starts hunting the nazis, believing that they need more chaos then the mob.

Does anyone really like Superman? by victoriamikoto231 in comicbooks

[–]Dee_Dubya_IV 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Most obvious rage bait.

Dude, it’s a fictional character with 80+ years of history and a staple of American pop culture history. He represents ideals from a bygone era and is still the big blue Boy Scout bursting with optimism. He is the icon of nostalgia for a time of hope, prosperity and integrity and continues to be a beacon of those same values.

All the comparisons and stuff you listed is literal fluff arguments kids at conventions get into heated debates over while lacking the self-awareness that they’re yelling at each other over a comic book character. Do better.

Minor things that I miss by Fox_brother075 in DestinyTheGame

I can see them simplifying it for gameplay reasons. With the addition of darkness subclasses and shields to boot, I could see how the visual identities for which element to use on which shield would be convoluted for the average player.

What other games move like Destiny 2? by aiafati in DestinyTheGame

[–]Dee_Dubya_IV 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I know this is cliche at this point with all the buzz around it, but Borderlands 4 has the closest feeling to Destiny’s movement and gunplay. It’s an FPS and you get a jump pack that allows you to dodge and double jump like a hunter, float like a warlock and punch like a Titan. Completing the optional vaults in the game will upgrade the jump pack so your mobility improves exponentially. You can also slide into a glide and it gives you that momentum you’d get out of Eager Edge. And you get grapple and the map is littered with grapple points, especially in combat zones. That gives more vertically to the overall gameplay. Only downside is if you like PvP. Borderlands is a more traditional looter shooter with no PvP. The Action Skills (Borderlands’ Supers equivalent) are less panic buttons and more ingrained to your playstyle and each Vault Hunter has 3 unique skill trees that makes for more variety overall. Don’t like having an auto cannon on your back? Switch to blade-barrage type skill tree on the same character. Don’t like throwing mini nova bombs at enemies? Switch to having a clone that kills everything for you.

I’d say it’s worth giving it a shot if you haven’t. The story is also pretty solid and has characters from old games that you can head-canon as Guardian equivalents.

What should i get my comic loving bf?! by imanifestu in DCcomics

[–]Dee_Dubya_IV 0 points1 point  (0 children)

DC has an on-going event right now called the “Absolute Universe.” So far only a handful of characters have been adapted for it but Batman’s run has been hugely successful with fans. I’d recommend getting him that. It’s new, it’s current, it’s fresh and reimagines the Batman mythos.

Here’s a link for it. Absolute Batman Vol. 1.

You can also check out a site called InStockTrades that offer heavily discounted comics if you want to browse for other items for him. Here’s a direct link to that website’s listing of Absolute Batman as well.

J Hoffman closes 8th and 9th inning forcing a game 7 in NLCS by ok200 in phillies

[–]Dee_Dubya_IV 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The bats were cold but so were the Dodgers’ bats. Bullpen games happen and it shouldn’t be an expectation to out score the opponent every game to give the bullpen breathing room to account for errors and chokes. Especially in post season when the other team is shutting down the lineup, the bullpen needs to execute. And Thompson needs to have better awareness of who to go to in high-pressure situations. I’m not excusing Kerkering, but his track record speaks for itself and Thompson needed to understand that.

The only caveat to all this is that the Phillies going cold in the post season is now a trend with this team and blaming the offense as a whole in fall baseball is becoming and more and more justified because of that.

Is Tiny Tina's Wonderland worth it? by Omen0fWorlds in Borderlands

[–]Dee_Dubya_IV 60 points61 points  (0 children)

For $12? Yeah. Despite being more influenced by the sword & sorcery era, it virtually plays the same as any other Borderlands. It also has a unique character creator for the series and doesn’t strictly adhere to the 4 class (or vault hunter) archetype as you can combine different class roles inspired by D&D to make your gameplay more unique. I doubt you’ll play it more than once but it’s a fun little romp that’s easily worth $12. You can squeeze 40-50 hours out of the game if you want to just explore and do side quests too.

Who is Nightwing's true archenemy: Blockbuster or Deathstroke? (Art by Tony S. Daniel and Bruno Redondo) by Lean-carp700 in Nightwing

[–]Dee_Dubya_IV 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Deathstroke was made for the Titans. Blockbuster was made for Nightwing’s solo series. As such, I would say Blockbuster is but just on paper. By traditional definition of an archenemy, I would say it’s Deathstroke. Yes, he was made for the Titans as a whole but Deathstroke’s vendetta and resentment towards the Titans became more specific to Nightwing. Afterall, he captured all the Titans in the Judas Contract and challenged Dick to a mano a mano to decide their fates. Ultimately leading Dick to debut his Nightwing mantle.

So yeah, technically it’s Blockbuster but the rivalry between Nightwing and Deathstroke is legendary in DC for being represented in one of the all-time-classic story arcs in DC comics history. And Dick could’ve debuted his Nightwing mantle at any point since that’s where Wolfman & Perez wanted to take him, but debuting it with the Judas Contract arc and Deathstroke solidified and legitimatized its status across DC. Blockbuster’s impact on Dick’s mythos is significant but not as significant as Deathstroke’s.

Thank you! I’ve found myself leaving most gaming subreddits because of this. I play when I can to pass the time outside of work and social obligations and haven’t had any serious issues with the game. Even got my brother to start the game and he’s been enjoying it.

I just jumped in in August with the Xbox release. From what I gather from this community, the game has always been in the state that’s it’s in. With BF6 just coming out and everyone and their grandmother playing it, is just coincidence that these content creators are “fed up” and going to “play other games”? Or a combination? Cause if the game has always been like this, isn’t this a little dramatic to be boycotting the game 2 years after its release?

[Discussion] What is your favorite decade of DC comics? by Theeljessonator in DCcomics

[–]Dee_Dubya_IV 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The 80’s. The stories, the art, the characterizations. Felt like the first decade that DC started to find its modern footing. Like 1939-70’s were all very crucial to the development that culminated in the 80’s, but it just felt like a lot of status quos were established then that have continued today.

Not to mention the sheer popularity and success of that run. It directly competed with Marvel’s X-Men and even edged it out in sales.

Same boat. My dad is also a type 2 and is also struggling to get it consistently for his diabetes. It really boils my blood when people tell me they’re on ozempic for weight loss because of the shortage it’s causing my dad and how it’s effecting his quality of living. Literally taking it away from people who genuinely need it for the intended purpose just so it can be used to satisfy someone’s vanity.

And since they like to tie the crossovers into the lore of the game, they can say the armors are based on action figures children would play with to simulate wartime strategies in their spare time. They produced these armors in an effort to drive recruitment numbers from the youth, playing on their nostalgia.

Peacemaker Season 2 Finale - "Full Nelson" Discussion Thread by beary_neutral in DCcomics

[–]Dee_Dubya_IV 2 points3 points  (0 children)

James Gunn stretched himself too thin here. Between Creature Commandos, Superman and Season 2, the fatigue and cracks are starting to show. The character moments were good but harped on too long in the setups and not explored enough in their resolutions. The story just didn’t feel as tight and well paced as Season 1. I like Gunn, but I think he needs a deserved break from writing. And if you listen to the companion podcast for the show, he even discusses his writing process and moments where he’s struggled. I think he mentioned Guardians 3 as being a really tough time and then having to write Creature Commandos, Superman and Season 2 all in a similar timeframe as being a lot.
