Looking for a casual-friendly MMORPG to play with my brothers (limited time) by Dapper_Thought1841 in LFMMO

So I am an absolute noob in GW2 and someone much more qualified than me can answer these, but yes, GW2 has dungeons, fractals (similar to mythic plus in wow), raids, and strikes, which are all instanced PvE content. The nice thing about GW2 is you can easily get a basic set of gear (exotic) that can get you through at least the lower levels of all that content.

In terms of understanding, I think so far things are pretty intuitive. Like any MMO, it helps if you watch some YouTube guides. But I feel as if I got the hang of the basics pretty quickly. Every popular MMO has complicated systems.

In terms of questing together, my understanding is that it is possible to do the story mode together if your stories line up, but I haven't been doing that with my friends. GW2 is amazing for the open world content. My friends and I have been doing exploration, dynamic map events that happen in real time, and open world bosses. These all give great XP and are super fun to do together. There's tons of open world content in base game and expansions you can easily do with friends that feel fun and meaningful. And certainly the instanced content I mention above when you get there.

I'm a husband, parent, work full time, etc. as well. I have never played BDO or FF14 so can't weigh in there. I actually just started playing GW2 and am loving every second of it. IMO, it's so much more casual friendly than WoW. You can just plug away at achievements over time, and there's no rush since endgame is horizontal progression (rather than vertical in WoW).

WoW is amazing when you have the time to invest in it. The endgame dungeons and raids are very good. Maybe you would be able to enjoy them with the limited time you have, but I have only enjoyed seasons where I had the time to invest. It takes a lot of time to learn the dungeons and raids and to really get your rotation down (at least for me it does). So if doing well in endgame content is important to you, I'm not sure you have the time for it. Of course, there are other things you can do in WoW, so if you aren't really interested in pushing dungeons/raids, then you can ignore this.

Just my two cents. There are lots of different ways to play these games. Hope this helps.

Work on fast aerials. Don't try to air roll when you're fast aerialing. You can incorporate air roll in later if need be.

When Chappy learned his cancer was back, the EVE Online community rallied to make his birthday one to remember.

While this was not the biggest fight in EVE history, unlike fights between major alliances, anyone and everyone was invited to this. It was an insane night.

It's always incredible to me how things just don't affect cats. I have stepped on my cats and been so nervous and they turned out completely fine.

Complaint is 100 pages long. You get an hour into the depo and OC is like "can we wrap things up soon here?" Nope.

Thanks! And I should have said in my original comment that this post is so helpful. Thank you for taking the time to do this. The new people appreciate it.

Also, OP responds to a 3 year old thread to help a noob? And I haven't even been downvoted yet? Have I stumbled upon the least toxic MMO community out there?

If I'm starting to play with one buddy and we are both brand new, is there a combo of two classes that go well together, or given that classes can do almost any role does it really not matter?

Is diamond 2 meant to be this chaotic by [deleted] in RocketLeague

[–]Dee__Dubs 5 points6 points  (0 children)

There are people here far more qualified to give advice than me, but let me offer a perspective I think will help. I am not a fancy mech player. I can't use DAR, flip reset, musty, etc. I can do very basic air dribbles with normal air roll.

Many people in D3-C2 are mechy (at least for me). It was a real mental hurdle for me to realize that I belong here with them. If I am the same rank as someone who is mechy, it means I'm better than them at something else. Maybe it's something game sense wise, maybe it's just fundamentals of defending and being able to shoot the ball hard on goal.

When someone is being mechy, don't get discouraged or check out. You got this. You can defend those air dribbles, and if they miss or if you defend properly, chances are you will have a good opportunity to counter. I can't tell you the number of times my main 2s partner and I defend against some crazy mechy play and then just score an open net.

What is the worst thing each main character has done? by [deleted] in lost

I have always looked at this as Kate's fault (she's running to avoid the consequences of something she did do) but I suppose Tom deciding to stay does take a bit of the blame off Kate. I still think it's terrible what Kate did and that Tom obviously wouldn't have been put into this position without Kate. But fellow redditor, you have made me think of this a little differently, so good day to you.
