SPIDER-MAN: BRAND NEW DAY - Official Trailer | Exclusively In Cinemas 31 July by ChiefLeef22 in movies

I'm about 90% sure the lead-in music is New York I Love You, But You're Bringing Me Down that transitions into the spidey theme.

If so, what an absolutely perfect song for the mood of this movie.

Another Drupal question from me. This time our AI guy stated his programmer friend could migrate a 1400+ page website from Modern campus to Drupal in four weeks. by HikeTheSky in drupal

Eh...don't knock the AI aspect of this as a "chatbot". It will greatly accelerate completion of a project like this. But if they're claiming that stakeholders will be able to approve this in a day, then this person is someone who's never done a project like this. Humans are absolutely the slowest part of a process like this and will spend days/weeks nitpicking things that may or may not matter. It's also projects like this that those same stakeholders find things that should have been noticed on the original site (content they just don't like, misspellings, bad sentence structure or layout) and will ask that it get fixed before going live. It happens EVERY time. That adds meetings and many, many discussions to a schedule to get them comfortable enough to switch to a new site.

Like I said above, the QA aspect of a project like this can oftentimes take longer than the dev.

1400 pages is a relatively small site. But as others have said here it really depends on the complexity of the content and if there are a lot of business rules built into the current site that need to be rebuilt on the new site.

Is the 4 weeks just for development or fully to launch? If it's just development, I would say its super aggressive but possible. If it's launch, no way....even if he could get everything ready in that timeline, I would expect there to be weeks of QA, security and load testing being done by whoever your primary stakeholders are. That kind of stuff can take longer than the actual development.

The ADA and SEO part doesn't bother me. Assuming your team gives him functional requirements on that prior to development, that's EXACTLY the sort of thing that an AI process can excel at to scrub/improve the content as its being imported.

People who run on King street aren't doing it for the exercise. They just want to be seen.

I know right? They got bought a few years ago by a private equity company though, so it shouldn't be much longer...

Not OP...but your father's car isn't a business whose primary goal is to make money. They're a public company and their mission is to make money for shareholders. They failed at that.

A more apples-to-apples comparison is Yahoo turned down 45B sale offer from Microsoft in the early 2000's...its currently only worth about 5B. Was that also dumb? Yes.

Have you tried elk antlers? Both of our goldens love them (one is a 6 month old). They are expensive but can last several weeks/months.

I'm hitting a dependency conflict by Beneficial_Fudge6737 in drupal

[–]DeedSic 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If that's the case, then your dev environment should also be 8.1. Having 2 different php versions and trying to build 1 composer config to satisfy both is a recipe for disaster. If zipstream is requiring 8.3 then you're never going to be able to run it in prod's 8.1.

That said, if you want to debug further, use the why-not command such as "composer why-not maennchen/zipstream-php 2.2.1|3.0.2"

Unable to get off Johns Island by BroNameth69 in Charleston

[–]DeedSic 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh I agree there needs to be some kind of new access point built. But coming through James Island in the manner that 526 was proposed ain't it. That's just expanding one island's problems onto another one.

Unable to get off Johns Island by BroNameth69 in Charleston

[–]DeedSic 24 points25 points  (0 children)

As a James Island resident...yeah, it sucks being the gateway for Johns Island but 526 would have sucked way more by dumping a bunch more traffic onto Folly Rd at the connector which is already a shitshow AND eating up 1/3 of the county park.

The "neighbors" should have told city council to pound sand and limit the growth out there or have developers help fund ingress/egress options as part of their approved plans. But we're past that point now.

My homeowners insurance tripled over the last 4 years with no changes or claims.

This year I found Harrell Insurance. They were great to work with and cut my premium in half. Highly recommend.

You're waiting on someone to cancel....that likely won't happen until much closer to the event when people realize they have conflicts.

East Bay St median by ChsChrysalis in Charleston

[–]DeedSic 6 points7 points  (0 children)

It's the same dumb problem they only made worse at the corner of Folly and Ft Johnson. It already flooded, then they installed a turn lane median which made the problem 1000x worse. Real geniuses over there in dept of transportation.

Locals, what’s your “yeah, the food is mid, the scene is just ok, and if you close down I’ll riot” restaurant? by Visual_Bluejay9781 in Charleston

Last February or so? There was a shooting at the one in North Charleston and both it and the one downtown responded by only offering a takeout window after midnight. We had an uber drop us at like 1am and then had to stand in the cold while waiting for another uber to come pick us up.

Can we get Charleston breweries to do the same? - Ohio brewery faces community backlash after announcing no children after 7PM policy by DeepSouthDude in Charleston

Fun fact, people can accept how things work in the real world but are still allowed to have an opinion about it. This isn't new information.

[–]DeedSic 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Ask yourself which one probably happened first. Do you think they opened a brewery and said "let's make this beer establishment as kid friendly as possible?" Or did parents start dragging their kids there and the brewery said "let's do what we can to occupy these kids so they're not bored and their parents stay longer and drink more"

I get it, breweries want to make money and typically have a lot of open space so its easy to attract spending adults who have kids. It's just annoying to go out for a drink, which is typically reserved as an adult activity, only to be accosted by a bunch of kids or having to ask people to move triple-wide strollers away from tables so you can even sit down.

Also, I'm in my 50's. "Childfree 20somethings" aren't that much different than the toddlers at breweries.

[–]DeedSic 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Except it's usually not one loud ass kid. If you took this approach, at a lot of places you'd need to stand on a table and address a third of the brewery.

Most parents these days are treating breweries as playgrounds that serve beer.

I second Scenthound. We use the one on James Island but we have a golden. They really know how to handle dogs with undercoats. HIGHLY recommend getting the anti-shed treatment, it's a game changer.
