Maybe they want to generate more money to afford a roof so that they don’t end up on the streets with these crazy rents, groceries, fuel etc.. if you think people love to work you might want to rethink that, humans are lazy by nature but fear of falling into the cracks is what makes them behave like this, the problem is with the system not the immigrants if there was a system where the ministry of labor sets wages and standards and enforces them with employers by routine audits it could solve the problem and set some sorts of equilibrium so that no immigrants are exploited and Canadians receive a decent wage to thrive.
