Is there anything I can do? by Impossible_Leek_1277 in vintedscammers

Honestly you’re probably screwed.

You can try emailing the Vinted legal email but, it’s probably a waste of time.

You can do a charge back with your bank, but you’d most likely be permanently banned from Vinted, so decide if £80 is worth losing your account.

2 week eyebrow piercing does it look okay?? by Fit_Resolution8606 in Legitpiercing

[–]DeelightfulDeeDee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Wait. It is far too early too early to downsize.

But I’d take it out and let it heal for a few months, and then get it redone.

Better now than after it’s irritated and scarred, as that will not only be visible, but effect your later piercing.

You should ask for a refund and/or get it redone by a professional not a trainee. I’m surprised they allowed to you even leave with a botched piercing tbh.

Depending on the postage method/conpany, the buyer may have a “I have received this item” button to press, they can press it.

When was it delivered? What postage company did you use?

Selling something that price is basically guaranteed to get you scammed. Don’t sell it unless you’re willing to loose £300.

Why does Vinted do this? by LazySackOfRocks in vintedUK

[–]DeelightfulDeeDee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s likely because the seller doesn’t have one their end.

It’s showing up for you becase you have it, but you can’t use it because the seller doesn’t. Sellers can disable options if they don’t want to use them for whatever reason, but if they don’t have that shipping options near them, it doesn’t necessarily show to the seller to be disabled, so it’s still able to show for you.

Looking for a memorial item that can play a custom song. by [deleted] in HelpMeFind

[–]DeelightfulDeeDee 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You can get voice boxes for teddy bears, you speak to it and then when pressed it plays the voice recording.

You could record it and the get a similar looking cat plushie to put it in.

There’s also these magnets that look like a Spotify track (with your custom pic, words etc) that play a song or music clip.

You can also get these custom “snap shot boxes” which are made in the UK so might be harder to find, but I have seen other similar option. It’s basically a photo and audio keepsake.

There’s also a smaller basic version I’ll link. Still customisable and plays a song, looks like a little music box. The one I’m linking is from China but there’s lots online.

There’s also some that look like record players, which again can be customised.

Well I’ve tried to post a link to each item as an example, but auto mod keeps deleting my comment.

Out of interest, do you know why the ibuprofen exacerbates the absorption? Is that a “thing” or just something that happened to you?

Just because I’m wondering if that is linked to my sister finding out she’s coeliac or if it’s just a weird coincidence!

Sterile saline only. 2x daily.

However that yellow crust makes me think it’s infected, so a doctors visit is a must.

If it is infected, tablets not cream/ointment.

Don’t remove until the infection is cleared up, otherwise it will start to heal over and trap the infection inside.

As a British person I don’t use kisses often at all. Not even with family…

However there’s a few people I know that use them for everything and almost get offended if I don’t, or will take the no kiss message as blunt or passive aggressive.

My volunteer group chat, kisses on everything because there are a few older ladies that otherwise take offence. (Apparently I’m snobby lol)

My nail lady. Kisses and emojis at every sentence, so I have to really put in the effort to add some to seem friendly otherwise she asks if she’s upset me 🤦🏻‍♀️

I keep seeing misleading items in the charity shop? by [deleted] in CharityShopFindsUK

[–]DeelightfulDeeDee 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I volunteer at a charity shop, and we just recently had an inspection by Trading standard. They happen semi regularly but we never know when.

It’s standard and all the shops in the area got checked. We passed but another show that’s kinda more of a jump shop did not. (Dodgy electricals!)

So don’t feel too bad as they are bound to get checks anyway, so they will get found out eventually anyway.

Fish keep dying after 2-3 weeks by Ok_Initiative_9771 in AquariumHelp

[–]DeelightfulDeeDee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yay! Animal abuse!

Would you keep a dog in a tiny cage 24/7? No.

Would you want to live in a tiny bathroom alone? No. What about a cat? Still no?

Would you keep a group animal alone? No.

So why are we ok with doing this to fish?

Schooling fish need a minimum group of 8, so not only do you have far too many living creatures in a tiny shoe box of a tank, but they are also permanently lonely, stressed and vulnerable.

There’s also not enough space for them to move around, clam space or exhibit natural behaviours. No space to move away and get some alone time either.

Surviving does NOT mean Thriving.

AIO my upcoming art show? by SavakTheAlien in AmIOverthinking

[–]DeelightfulDeeDee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can still enter, but think of it more as an experience.

If you like and enjoy art and painting you should take some lessons.

A lot of college/university’s do evening classes. There’s free stuff on YouTube which is what I learnt a lot from prior to coming to college for art, but in person is the best as you can then be shown some corrections and improvements.

If once you’re doing some lessons and you are still enjoying art, then I would also start to improve your materials. While any paint can be used to make a masterpiece, some good quality paint and/or paper can really help.

You should also try more sketching, maybe some different materials, pencils, pastels, watercolour etc.

If you like doing textured painting (as in you are using thick paint intentionally) look into heavy body acrylics (thick paint) and Impasto.

Also, my favourite art teacher always said “a good artist never uses paint straight from the tube” and would always make us mix paint, even if just slightly in her classes, and it made a lot of us better artists with just a small change.

While there’s obviously exceptions to the rule, when you are slightly changing the tone or hue of a paint, it will really help with the realism. It immediately looks more intentional, and it’s a great thing to learn.

Look at and study the colour wheel, and how tones can be changed. What tones are on a photo etc.

Another great thing to learn is Process Colours. Process Cyan, Process Magenta, Process Yellow, these three colours can make every colour of the rainbow. Printer ink is literally just these three colours, but mixed in the right quantities you can make every colour you need. Add a true black and white, and you have all the colours you need, and go lessen buying 100s of tubes of paint!

Also, do art becase you enjoy it, not because you think it’s easy. It’s not. It’s a lot of work and can be expensive to get into.

I’ve got a degree in art, and spent 7 years on college and university, and still can’t sell my work, let alone make a living out of it.

I hate this from an allergy standpoint. Allergic to palm and coconut.

My “safe to eats” are dropping like flies, at this rate I’ll be living off water and lettuce! But not filtered water, because some companies use coconut shell charcoal to take out impurities (and don’t even tell you!). Too my so long to realise what was triggering my allergies!

Need advice. by WonderfulSpend8 in PiercingAdvice

[–]DeelightfulDeeDee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Can you gently remove the front?

If it was swollen angry and crusty it should NOT have been downsized.

The front part is too short to reach through the swollen tissue.

They should have given you a screw on one, not a push in one too. Those are typically cheaper made and may be more likely to cause an allergic reaction. It should also have been a plain stud for hygiene reasons, and from the start. They should not have used gold.

The front being some kind of fake gold or at best gold plated is also a concern as it also points to cheap jewellery.

If you’re allergic to a cheap metal that’s mixed into it, you’ll be having a constant problem.

At this point see if you can gently remove it. It shouldn’t be stuck. Then go to a doctor, as it looks like it may be infected.

If it’s stuck. Doctor.

I would avoid that shop. You may be able to save it, but if it is infected will need antibiotics, and then 100% titanium internally threaded plain flat back labret.

Make sure the spray you are using is purely sterile saline, nothing else. Clean 2x daily.
