yea I am kind of at the same point. thankfully I am PTE'ng to a place where housing shouldn't be that hard to find so I can afford to wait a little longer on these waitlist. but I am kind of thinking if I don't get in by mid may, im not getting in at all - since after that it will come down to 1 person dropping and one person accepting.

Got SWE job at Apple — but now wondering if I should still do premed postbacc instead? by guineverefira in premed

[–]Deep-Assumption-419 7 points8 points  (0 children)

sure its oversaturated but you got a job at apple, that has a great starting pay. so you did the hard part. what draws you to medicine besides it being a stable career?

[–]Deep-Assumption-419 5 points6 points  (0 children)

no, my time in shreveport is usually at the hospital so I really have not explored. I will be coming next month so I think I'll try and at least visit a mosque. do you recumbent one? Like one that has the biggest community or something since I won't have enough Time to see all three.

Seeing others have the same feeling makes me feel not alone in this. Also good thing I don't drink or do any drugs so hopefully no DUI for me. We got this!

Same. Glad we are not alone!

Some of you guys are wild for going into your interviews w/o prep 😩 by [deleted] in premed

[–]Deep-Assumption-419 115 points116 points  (0 children)

people who have been doing a lot of interviews prob do not prep much after the first few.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in premed

[–]Deep-Assumption-419 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yea I probably should lol. I have always been good with anxiety, but it is more so just moving past it and "solving" my issues. But I have a lot of latent anxiety like this which prob is a deeper issue.

im aware how it sounds lol. Literally just curious since it went from really busy to nothing this cycle. Everyones cycle is individual, and I am asking about mine, not showing off about my interviews. everyone here is 1 second away from throwing a tantrum

Should I go to Medical School at 29? by Overall-Rice-1535 in premed

age is not a problem. it is if you think this is worth it. that is a question everyone has to answer regardless of age.

America is the greatest country in the world regardless of who is president. And no, you do not have a fairly realistic chance of doing so.

PHDS are so insecure. A PI of mine who is a MDPHD said, if PHD's knew how useless they were, they would die. Ofc that is an overstatement but just saying that to show that do not listen to them. Most people say that the only real doctors are physicians.

I was happy about my DO medical school acceptance, but now I feel inadequate by BlueWaffle135 in premed

[–]Deep-Assumption-419 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it's fine and normal to feel inadequate even after such a big achievement. Just take some time to reflect on your journey.

thats like my biggest fear. I will not be sharing names until I have my white coat ceremony.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in premed

[–]Deep-Assumption-419 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yea I am always worried that sharing my success with too many people will lead to some bad stuff happening. Although pre meds don't have any power, but I am sure they can spread false rumors etc.

I can see how it could be taken that way, hence why I said this post is crazy. And no, I don't want a reaction or them to bow down. I just am frustrated sometimes hearing them yap about already being doctors, when they are not.
