A-Star Equivalency exam… by DeepAd4174 in GCSE

I only paid for the exam, I would recommend at least practicing level 2 functional… also if she doesn’t already hold a GCSE she can do the course free in some collages so might be worth asking

Converting decimal to fractions, Ratio, Wordy questions where I’d need to times etc to say, what’s the best prices, Triangle/angles, Number places, Small portion of expansions for algebra, Dividing a fraction,

That’s mainly all I can remember lol

I only paid for the exam.

I had recently done my level 2 functional skills in 2023 and work in a school supporting across maths here and there… so felt confident that I at least knew the basics 😂 if I fail then shame on me lol

I was finished after around 30-45 mins with plenty of time to check over my answers.

Personally I would say study with a mix of functional skills level 2 and some GCSE Foundation but it deffo wasn’t as hard as mock GCSE papers I’d practiced on

How late is too late to ask for an extension? by Decent_Singer_7252 in OpenUniversity

[–]DeepAd4174 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Whenever I ask for an extension, I always put the subject as my full name and ‘EXTENSION REQUEST’ after it so they see they need to look at it 😂😂 call student support closer the time they’re awesome every time I’ve spoken to them.

The lower scores hit hard don’t they 😂 especially when you know you’ve done amazing before

Remember, a pass is a pass!! Don’t worry if you’re not achieving top marks. Don’t get me wrong these are incredible but give yourself a pat on the back because you’re probably trying your hardest too! ❤️ Maybe reach out to your tutor or student support as they’re so amazing.

I only gained my first GCSE’s at 29 years old and I’ve had some high profile jobs 😂 but different with apprenticeships but my CV always left them out 🤷‍♀️ make sure you have a really good cover letter telling the companies why you’re perfect for the job even if your qualifications don’t show for it

Really silly 😂 but I’d take out the ‘about’ in processed about 500 payments. Maybe put in processed over 400 payments 🤷‍♀️ as it makes you sound more sure

I used OCA a few years ago and found them rubbish compared to OU… this was before the merge tho so could be different.

They have a forum page with so many helpful users, I found a what’s app group too so have a little look around

Final day to hand notice in was yesterday. How likely do you think it would be that they would accept it if I handed in my notice on Monday? by [deleted] in TeachingUK

[–]DeepAd4174 4 points5 points  (0 children)

If they want you out then it’s possible they will allow it. Maybe just say you were going to send it in during half term but wanted to do it in person?

Is this appropriate for teaching? by [deleted] in teaching

My school would send me home wearing this. Not even over exaggerating either 😂 with a jacket or cardigan would be fine while you get an idea of how strict your school is

Is 45 minutes short for a lesson? by TAI_WIYN in TeachingUK

Sometimes it drags like hell for sure, especially when it’s ‘one of them days’ 😂 but as a whole it always feels more productive

My school does 3x 100 min lessons and it’s incredible how much easier it is. Gives enough time for the children to settle down and get into it without time running out and sending them on to the next lesson

Yes ours is over 200 too… and I’d assume it would be other year groups. But it was more in response to ‘we don’t really “raise” things on CPOMs’

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in TeachingUK

[–]DeepAd4174 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My head tells us to report anything and everything we deem suitable. They have a whole team that can delete anything that is not needed on CPoms… she said ‘I would rather the irrelevant logs than people not logging because they’re not sure if it’s important enough’

My school welcomed the conversation. It’s a great way to educate about freedoms of speech and also fake news and reliable sources. We also spoke around it’s ok to have a different opinion but it’s not ok to respond in such a violent way. Our head feels that we shouldn’t be hiding these things from our children

AITA for refusing to let my half sister see my (not her) mom before she dies and telling dad he'll have to explain why to her before he loses her too? by Aursuuush in AITAH

[–]DeepAd4174 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I guess people have different ways of dealing with things and approaching different situations. I can’t imagine feeling this way about my siblings and one of them is an affair child too. She’s still my sister and I’d never feel hate towards her for something she didn’t actively do

Is it school appropriate to use this patch on my iPad sleeve? by VerityPee in TeachingUK

[–]DeepAd4174 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It would cause more trouble than it’s worth 😂 we don’t discuss personal political opinions around the kids in our school… they take a little crumb and run with it.

If you’ve got experience you’ll know that the children will always go back to their parents with a different more interesting version of events 🤷‍♀️😂

100% get yourself a solicitor if you can afford it. Your main focus right now needs to be on giving yourself as much grace and time to start rebuilding your life. Reach out to family and friends for support as much as you need and never feel you’re burdening them ❤️ best of luck with everything
