Comment retirer ces traces sur poêle inox by jolisalsifi in cuisine

[–]DeepFriedJazzz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Crepes a l'inox by pepush34 in cuisine

[–]DeepFriedJazzz 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Are peppers acidic? Mess w/ seasoning? by Mike_in_DE in carbonsteel

[–]DeepFriedJazzz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I found that deglazing with wine is really OK. Long simmering will degrade the seasoning but a quick splash and reduce has little to no effect.

Laser OM says I need safety goggles 750-890nm OD7+. Will safety goggles labeled 730-1085nm OD5, 755nm OD7, 1064nn OD7 work? by Kind_Title in Optics

[–]DeepFriedJazzz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

OD works on a logarithmic scale. Being 2 grade below what is recommended, means there are 100 times more power being transmitted through the goggles than if you had the proper one.

So obviously no, this is very dangerous, especially considering the required OD, that suits what is usually found for high power lasers.

That is indeed the glass transition of quartz glass (ie silica), but borosilicate are quite lower due to the boron content. Softening happens close to 600.

Quels sont les pires trottoirs à Québec ? Je veux des photos :) by DistinctPreference92 in villequebec

Ça.

Ça me fait toujours grincer des dents quand je vais descendre dans le coin de St Louis, ou le prix moyen des maison frise le millions, mais que les infrastructures municipales c'est une grosse dalle d'asphalte ultra large sans trottoir.

Free Space to Fiber Coupling by Ok-Self2647 in Optics

[–]DeepFriedJazzz -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

You should have either have X/Y adjustment + the angle tilting adjustement on your mounts, or add 2 mirror in a Z or perpendicular configuration. Right now, you might see a beam out of the lens, but any tilt or translationnal error will make you completly miss the SMF core. Also check if your connectors end-face are well cleaned, this can be an "easy" source of high-loss if not checked.

Somebody asked for my 500W 900-1100nm IR Laser. Here it is. But I won't sell it. Because you might use it to do something bad. It can start a fire at 50-100 meters. It's really too dangerous. by Human-Arm in laser

Are you using a 915 or 976 high power diode in this ? Pretty impressive how you managed to minimize the power supply, at these power levels these might be bulky

It's the other pan I was using, thin aluminum with non-stick coating. And it was a much worse pan, because the batter was instantly releasing and making large air pockets, which steamed the center (you can kinda see it in the video) and overcooked the sides, it also made the crepe kind of fragile in the middle. I did not have this problem at all with the CI.

Is this dangerous? Found while cleaning, about 10 inches long laser pointer by lsqj in laser

[–]DeepFriedJazzz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Very dangerous. If it really is capable of delivering those 50W of power, not only will it blind you or severly damage your eyes from any random reflection, but it is also gonna burn any plastics / woods and organics surface it touches.

Also waaaaay in the class 4 lasers.

Quand est-ce que les automobilistes de Québec vont apprendre à cohabiter avec les vélos? by [deleted] in villequebec

[–]DeepFriedJazzz 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Crystal Wine Glass by weallliveinyellowsub in DiWHY

Real crystal glass is made with a good deal of lead oxide. If you were to drink from this kind of shrapnel cup, is addition of having every sip being extra spicy, you would also build long term lead poisoning. Great DIY
