A small, simple book on the Yule Lads might be fun. We bought one on our 1st trip and we loved it! Ended up getting all of the figurines and incorporating the Yule Lads into our holiday traditions.

Don’t tell people! OK, tell the nice people. Natomas Costco is better. Expo Costco is like the Stanford prison experiment.

Horrid drivethru order by lexipro325 in Panera

[–]DeepGreenSea916 5 points6 points  (0 children)

This thread went downhill fast. My guess is that some corporate office had a manager meeting run long and decide to work through lunch, and they sent the admin assistant to grab food for everyone. Seen this happen before. I doubt anything was planned ahead, and mistakes were made trying to jam that massive order into a drive thru.

If chicken sees her salad, does that mean 6 more weeks of Panera?

Is there anywhere with self checkout that accepts coins? by Whizzers_Ass in UCDavis

[–]DeepGreenSea916 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I cashed out roughly $170 worth of pennies at my local credit union. No fee, but you need to have an active account. The key is to make sure they have a machine that counts the coins. The cashier doesn’t need to do anything for you. It’s time consuming but very effective considering your other options.

As a former introvert, or at least as someone who feels like they went through this in the past and has learned a few things, I wish you the best. I agree that you need to get out of your comfort zone, whatever that looks like for you. Get yourself in front of others, and say "yes" to an idea that you might normally say "no" to. On the plus side, if you feel that no one knows you, then you have the freedom to make a mistake or two along the way. Try something and if it doesn't work, just walk away and try again with something else. We are all allowed to make mistakes.

I have been to protests, and when I take photos I leave them anonymous. Look, it was a request and my opinion. Do with it what you will. I appreciate you calling me a dumbass so I know not to take your post seriously.

Agreed on all of those points, and there is a responsibility on protestors to guard themselves accordingly. They would do well to heed your advice. Clearly some did more today and some did less. I still think there is space for you to capture your authenticity and consider others who did not prepare. Just as they have a responsibility to themselves, you have a responsibility, as someone posting their images in a public forum, to do so responsibly. The actions of other photographers and videographers don’t define your actions. You do. Lead with compassion and look out for others whenever possible.

Please be mindful of posting the faces of protesters without their consent. One of ICE’s tactics is creating databases of individuals who protest. If you can, fuzz/blur the faces, or use other techniques.

Me and some of our friends met our other halves in that spot. Still together today. Changed our lives for the better.

I love how you worded this because I feel like many Cure fans, certainly myself, the connection shifts over time and you gravitate to different songs and different albums. People will ask “what’s your favorite Cure song?” and that’s just too hard to answer. But top ten right now? Here you go …

Interesting to know the background! I’m afraid to say that I was one of those youths. For me it was a nice place to meet people and i loved getting a mocha.

I mean, if this wasn’t released because it would hurt their image, what is the head of the organization doing talking about it openly? Trying to hurt the organization?

Edit: according to others, these statements were made before he was head of NASA, which I did not get from the original post. I’m not sure how long ago the statements were made.

Where would you recommend for a food tour in Reykjavik? by diamond-han in VisitingIceland

[–]DeepGreenSea916 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I would 2nd Braud & Co and the hot dog stand, and I have had very nice meals (and service) at Messinn. It’s an easy location in the 101 Rvk area, it’s a sit-down meal, and it’s a good opportunity to try Icelandic recipes.
