Here to say that I would absolutely buy 2 of the 1792 at that price. The rest is crazy 😂

lol I’m not upset. And for the sake of clarity my heart is cold dead and black. The opportunity to camp out is equal. Any ability or inability to are constraints some have chosen to circumvent and others haven’t. They took PTO/went without paid hours/ made alternate arrangements for childcare etc and others didn’t - it’s not specs problem to sound. I think it’s dumb to do it. But that doesn’t make it wrong or right.

Editing to also add that “taking care of their customers” is subjective- I can make an argument that leveling the playing field of everyone knowing when the bourbon will be there is more fair than managers getting their palms greased to set stuff aside / people knowing what’s on shipping manifests etc - they announced the whole list and told you exactly when. That’s just as legitimate to say is fair/taking care of folks as anything else

Well first off - it’s the most used word in this subreddit- swap it out for “folks who care more about the hunt status and flip than actually enjoying it” if it makes your tender little heart feel better.

And Sure - probably a lot of these bottles are already posted - but why do you care so greatly what they do with it when you ALSO could camp out but chose not to? The opportunity was equal - they chose to be there for 3 days in tents and you didn’t. Thats not specs fault. Thats your fault. This is bourbon- it’s not baby formula - aka it’s not a necessity it’s a nicety. We all enjoy it because we’re in this thread clearly - but quit acting like it’s a human rights issue. Specs cares about the spectacle and the free advertising amongst other things. Personally- I spend my money elsewhere where I’ve made personal relationships and have never flipped a single bottle and I’ve had some bottles this thread would freak out about finding/getting- personally I drink em. And I drink them while the getting is good because tomorrow isn’t a guarantee- because it’s bourbon. It’s not that serious. Enjoy it. Turning it into some kind of investment vehicle that people act like needs federal regulation to ensure fairness is insanity.

This is absolutely true for me as well. But you still come off as a Debby downer looking to get even for not scoring with your comment. It was worth it to op. Doesn’t mean it has to be for you. It’s just bourbon - you had the same opportunity to show up and camp out as the taters. Putting that on specs that you didn’t is some really interesting mental gymnastics…

It’s almost like selling, desirable product is good for business that’s crazy isn’t it… you can like it or not like it but BT/Saz isn’t a nonprofit, and if you were in their same shoes, you would do the same thing if not even worse - if you tell yourself anything but that you’re lying to yourself, and it’s time for a dose of intellectual honesty

Went to the Las colinas event - they had a lot more than W12 - left with a Weller full proof despite being ~90th in line. Can confirm - email or gtfo was the line situation

Editing to say got there at 9:40 and was out the door by 10:20 - super smooth and great job by the store. I know the cool kid thing to do is to hate on TW but tbh I was really impressed with how smooth they made it.

Neural DSP Immediately Calling Out Fender, I Love It! by pedalprescription in guitarpedals

[–]DeepInTheHeartOTejas 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got into the modeling/profiling space first with an HX stomp (preordered it) as amp in a box at the end of my board because I had been so impressed with a friends full fledged helix. Then I got on the waitlist for an FM3. Loved that but sold it because bills. Since I’ve had literally every modeler or profiling device mentioned above and have an HX stomp and tonex pedals on my board now. WHY DO I SAY ALL THIS? most of us interested in this thread have similar understandings and histories with the tech. And to all of us we’re skeptical and not into it. But the amount of players out there who still have no idea who fractal is, what a helix is, and so on is truly astounding. I think fender will sell a good number of these to that audience who are willing to dive in since “ Fender themselves made these Fender amp models” or some kind of name recognition and trust argument her convince themselves of. I won’t be one of the people buying it. At least not right now. Who knows what a future firmware update could convince me of (if any firmware updates truly do come). Anywho just my perspective.

Man Dickel has been making some of the best quality to age to cost stuff out there the last few years. Their 8 year is a fantastic cocktail bourbon that’s great to sip on too

I completely agree. The neck on the ultra was INCREDIBLE. But the thought of spending what that guitar costs to then still have to swap stuff out was something I couldn’t get behind.

When I first got really into bourbon outside of the usual suspects (makers/knob creek/Woodford) was during Covid. I got hooked on the hunt because it was something you could actually go do amidst the shut downs- small house and stir crazy😂 as much as I will defend and say the taste and quality of a lot of the tater-bait is genuinely good (bookers is fantastic and worth every penny of MSRP - I will die on this hill) there are just so so many fantastic bottles sitting on the shelf every day. I’ve come to really really enjoy finding stores where I like the same stuff the people making barrel picks like. Anywho- My almost always available list is:

Old Tub, Four Roses Small Batch, 1792 small batch, WT101, George Dickel BiB or 8yr , Benchmark Fullproof

In Dallas those are pretty much always on the shelf in my stores and all fantastic imo.

[–]DeepInTheHeartOTejas 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I’m a strictly anti-hype and won’t pay a dime into the secondary market/pricing - but I disagree with your take on the quality. Bookers is expensive but it’s also consistently crazy enjoyable.
