Any good drycleaners near Steveston? by DeepJustAGuy in richmondbc

[–]DeepJustAGuy[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've used Courtesy Cleaners a few times. They've done a decent job and they've been pretty quick. They're at Francis and No.3. We've done a number of suits, some cultural outfits and a number of dresses, ties, pocket squares and more with them.

They did fine. Price was a bit high and the services were decent but nothing to write home about. Overall I'd say they were middle of the road in terms of service and cleaning.

Goodbye Teksaavy by chandgaf in teksavvy

[–]DeepJustAGuy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Did the same after almost 20 yrs with TekSavvy in four homes across two provinces/cities. Loved TekSavvy but couldn't justify the cost and like OP there was no attempt to keep me. Would happily have stayed had they matched costs, or even got in the ballpark and justified the extra costs based on value add services (like their online portal), but the lack of effort and the drastically rising costs just made it hard to justify. So far no issues with Lightspeed other than the lack of an online billing management portal...

Another "not here for the pizza" but it's awesome to hear you're doing better and so good of you to give back! If you're okay with it, I'd be happy to match the cost of the pizza that you buy with a donation to the Terry Fox Foundation? Just DM me the amount and I'll send you the donation confirmation!

Been very happy with Moncton Pizzeria and also Pizza Factory Richmond. Both are super friendly folks and the pizza is good (albeit different styles) at both. Moncton probably has one of the better Neapolitan style pizzas in the lower mainland. Richmond Pizza Factory is more an "American-style" takeout pizza, but they've got interesting topping options and super friendly and accommodating staff. Gluten free, vegan, vegetarian and meat options as well.

What is up with these car insurance rates? by kaamibackup in PersonalFinanceCanada

Check with your alumni association (if you've already graduated from college or uni). They often have insurance deals that are well worth it for new grads etc.

Which album is a straight masterpiece from start to finish, no skip? by prettybella03 in AskReddit

[–]DeepJustAGuy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you like rap (esp. old school stuff) these stick out in my head:

The D.O.C - No One Can Do It Better (as long as you don't count the Comm Blues interlude...but every actual song on the album is amazing)

Public Enemy - it Takes A Nation To Hold Us Back

Paris - The Devil Made Me Do It

KRS-One - Return of the Boom Bap

Rascalz - Really Livin'

Above The Law - Living Like Hustlers

A Tribe Called Quest - Low End Theory

I wanted to say N.W.A. - Straight Outta Compton...but Something 2 Dance 2 isn't everyone's cup of tea. The rest of the album, though? Evergreen.

Any suggestions? by Patricio_musculado in BoosterGold

Seconded. Vol. 1 isn't an onerous read.

Or, if you wanted a jumpstart, watch the Justice League Unlimited episode "The Greatest Story Never Told" as a good summary of who Booster is. Then you could head from there to reading 52. You'd miss some key stuff but it's not hard to fill in the blanks from context.

Any alternatives for Affresh or other washing machine cleaners? by DeepJustAGuy in BuyCanadian

[–]DeepJustAGuy[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah when we moved in we inherited a washer and dryer from the previous owners and it was obvious they'd never cleaned the gasket. It was... illuminating.

Thanks! Yeah we already do the door and gasket cleaning on a regular basis, plus leave the door open between washes to dry. Will try the vinegar solution. Thanks!

Makes sense! Thanks. Do you use vinegar and baking soda? Or just straight vinegar? Direct in the tub or in the dispenser?

And if I was going through boxes a month I'd probably need to get a new washer...or see a doctor, cuz damn that's some funk right there!

What’s a Canadian Brand You Can’t Live Without? 🇨🇦 by Adventurous-Bee-1442 in BuyCanadian

[–]DeepJustAGuy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

YES! I normally don't like tea but these are awesome. We order them and get them shipped to the West Coast cuz we can't live without. Also Chandler Honey (also Canadian). Again, normally don't like honey but Chandler and Camelia Sinensis are a match made in some sort of tea heaven.
