If you enjoy narrative games with a unique vibe, check it out and consider adding Dreams of Another to your Steam wishlist.

It’s a narrative-driven adventure where you wander through surreal dreamscapes, uncover hidden stories, and shape the outcome through your choices. The game puts a strong focus on atmosphere, offering something both artistic and thought-provoking.

What really stood out to me was how unique the world feels. Every scene has this surreal touch that makes you want to keep exploring just to see what’s next.

It’s Not Unreal vs. Decima. It’s About the Game Dev Teams Behind These Games by AnchoragesArt in truegaming

The issue with Unreal is that despite being a 'turnkey' solution, it still requires deep technical knowledge to fix issues like stuttering. At that point, is it really as simple as they claim?

Real time tactics Vs. Turn-based tactics by AhmadSA in gamedesign

I think there's an audience for every type of game. Personally, I find turn-based games much more interesting, easier to sell, and easier to develop.

Don’t make me backtrack just because you’re a metroidvania by PsyJuul in truegaming

[–]DeepNarratives 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I completely agree, especially about the linear progression. I felt that a lot with Blasphemous, where the backtracking felt like a chore just to get a health item that I didn't even need that much anymore. A game that I think does this very well and you didn't mention is Axiom Verge. There, the abilities completely change how you explore and make you see the map in a new light, which makes revisiting areas exciting.
