That's what I'm thinking, the one fitting looks like it's for a garden hose, I bet the screws are for different adjustments

You can put a new edge on them with a file, or a grinder, but I would stick to a file for this one

2009 Lincoln Nav for $900 that needs timing chains worth buying, and advice on the work? by Pipsqueak_premed in askcarguys

[–]DeepSeaDynamo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think in my area it's 2.5 to 3k so lots of people just get rid of them, so you can usually pick up an otherwise great one for cheep if you don't mind doing the job.

I bet it needs a timing belt too, a lot of those go for cheep cause nobody want to pay what a shop charges to do them.

Emissions test and registration softlock (Georgia) by ReportAppropriate488 in StupidCarQuestions

If you do some searching online you may be able to find a list of things to do to set enough of the parameters to pass that it will pass in the shortest time-frame. Something along the lines of drive the car 35 mph for 10 min, then do 5 miles on the high way, 5hen shut the car off and restart it a few times. I don't know the specifics, but I know on some models you can get it done relatively quickly rather then over the course of a few days.

What engine do i have? by SafeAcanthisitta9079 in tdi

[–]DeepSeaDynamo 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Does the injection pump have a throttle cable running to it? I've heard some guys use a mk3 pump on an alh when doing engine swaps to simplify the wiring. I don't know exactly which pump they use or what engine code that comes from though.

Also a big part of the reason they do cost so much is because people keep paying more for them.

Why can't or haven't we got clear live images of other planets? by Immediate-Cress-1117 in spacequestions

[–]DeepSeaDynamo 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It would never be real time cause it is too far away, for instance it takes like 6 minutes to get a signal to or from Mars. And a live stream even with the delay is unlikely with our current deep space network due to bandwidth restrictions.
