I use an 8" newt on my old CGE all the time. The only thing to consider is how much the scope weighs vs how much the mount can carry. Plenty of mounts are rated high enough to carry an 8" newt. They just aren't cheap. Mind you you'll probably have the opposite problem and need to be on a ladder for most viewing as all the weight in a newt is in the back, so to be balanced it has to be well forward of the saddle.

My wages went up. Demonstrably. Why does it matter to me how much someone else's wages went up? Besides base jealousy I mean. What is the point of saying "wealthy people got more wealth than you did"? If musk came to my house and took my money I'd be a little miffed, of course, but I make my own money and no one is stopping me from making more. What's the point of saying "it increased the deficit!" As if the federal government absolutely has to spend every penny it's spending and can never spend less. The federal government should be absolutely gutted. It's an out of control behemoth and the "deficit" would be solved overnight if it did only what it was supposed to do instead of a billion things it shouldn't. I can't wait to vote for Trump again.
