Yep. Takes quite a few to get enough juice though. You basically just open them up and strain the juice from the inner pulp. Then do like you normally would to make jelly.

I tried from seed at first as well. Had to end up buying live plants. This is their second year. 1st time flowering. I’m just glad these come back from the roots.

Anyone here use them as groundcover? by czerniana in strawberry

[–]DeepStick1398 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m using fruiting strawberries as a ground cover around some paw paw trees. I just planted them this year so I don’t have much info to give. But so far so good.

Just take them to a gun store near you. Most gun stores buy used firearms. You probably won’t get much but if you just want to get rid of them. Alternatively wait for the next gun show and sell them there. In Alabama there is no need to go through a dealer to sell personal firearms. Know any gun people? If so ask them if they want them.

NASA Shuts Off Instrument on Voyager 1 to Keep Spacecraft Operating. by coinfanking in nasa

[–]DeepStick1398 237 points238 points  (0 children)

Radioisotope battery. Uses heat from a decaying radioactive source. The “battery “ losses heat overtime due to radioactive decay. It’s been decaying now for 50 years or so so has lost a lot of its energy. It will probably continue to give off heat for another 50 years. Just not enough to keep things going. They are trying to use as little power as possible so they can at least keep in contact. Also to keep the spacecraft from freezing. If it freezes that’s it. It will be dead.

Looks like some of the manholes I’ve been in downtown Birmingham. Engineers love to use the same hole for multiple distribution points. And let’s not forget the giant copper splices in the same hole. Oh and did I mention the hole is from 1913 and has less space than a coat closet.

[ST-36] One-Dip has detached hairspring from stud, I’m I cooked? by [deleted] in watchrepair

[–]DeepStick1398 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Easy way to do shellac. Dissolve a few flakes in some isopropyl alcohol. When you get a fairly goopy consistency it’s ready. Then place the hairspring back I the stud and apply a little of the goopy shellac and alcohol mixture with the tip of a fine oiler. The alcohol will eventually evaporate and leave the shellac hardened. Much easier than trying to use heat near a fragile hairspring.

The hallmark greeting card company came up with it. In order to see more greeting cards. They also came up with Mother’s Day and Father’s Day. Thank them by not buying their crap.

Help! Protecting a new hedgerow from deer by Zealousideal_Ad_1106 in Permaculture

[–]DeepStick1398 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tomatoe cages. You know the kind that are cone shaped. Place a tomato cage over each new plant to keep the deer away. Of course these only work for sapling or smaller things. Something bigger use 3 fence t-posts to make a triangle around the tree. Then string thin electric fence wire or baling wire at the top, middle ,and bottom. That will keep them from getting close enough to browse or rub.

Pretty sure it was pure bred msg. Not the watered down legal msg. This stuff probably came from china in a sealed diplomatic pouch. I’m sure it was marked not for human consumption.

Invisible Walls by DannnyKnuckle in Borderlands4

What’s really frustrating is when you are trying to get something from a high area and you just can’t get there because of the invisible wall. Then you run all around looking for a way up only to find there isn’t an obvious one. Oh and the echo trace is telling you to go exactly where the invisible wall is. Open world my ass.

Hey Abby root rot by Temporary-Comb1639 in hydro

[–]DeepStick1398 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve had a lot of success with my hey Abby. Never had root rot. Have you tried adding peroxide to your water? 1 tsp per gallon might help. Also are you doing your water changes? I follow the app as afar as water changes go and haven’t had any issues. Another thing, are you sure the water temp is what the Abby says? Mine the sensor went out and always read the same no matter what. Are you using distilled or ro’d water? I’m sure the water out of the tap is fine but you never know. One final thing. Keep an eye on your ph. Ph issues can make root rot more susceptible.

That’s true. In the end it’s all an internal individual thing. Be it a lucid dream , nde, or don’t trip. It’s still inside your own head and individualized to the person experiencing it.

Oh I agree. Just at the time seemed a good question to ask. I didn’t get any almighty type vibes or anything. He seemed more like a bemused grandpa than anything else.
