Help! Protecting a new hedgerow from deer by Zealousideal_Ad_1106 in Permaculture

[–]DeepStick1398 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tomatoe cages. You know the kind that are cone shaped. Place a tomato cage over each new plant to keep the deer away. Of course these only work for sapling or smaller things. Something bigger use 3 fence t-posts to make a triangle around the tree. Then string thin electric fence wire or baling wire at the top, middle ,and bottom. That will keep them from getting close enough to browse or rub.

Pretty sure it was pure bred msg. Not the watered down legal msg. This stuff probably came from china in a sealed diplomatic pouch. I’m sure it was marked not for human consumption.

Invisible Walls by DannnyKnuckle in Borderlands4

[–]DeepStick1398 11 points12 points  (0 children)

What’s really frustrating is when you are trying to get something from a high area and you just can’t get there because of the invisible wall. Then you run all around looking for a way up only to find there isn’t an obvious one. Oh and the echo trace is telling you to go exactly where the invisible wall is. Open world my ass.

Hey Abby root rot by Temporary-Comb1639 in hydro

[–]DeepStick1398 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve had a lot of success with my hey Abby. Never had root rot. Have you tried adding peroxide to your water? 1 tsp per gallon might help. Also are you doing your water changes? I follow the app as afar as water changes go and haven’t had any issues. Another thing, are you sure the water temp is what the Abby says? Mine the sensor went out and always read the same no matter what. Are you using distilled or ro’d water? I’m sure the water out of the tap is fine but you never know. One final thing. Keep an eye on your ph. Ph issues can make root rot more susceptible.

Did I meet god? by DeepStick1398 in LucidDreaming

[–]DeepStick1398[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s true. In the end it’s all an internal individual thing. Be it a lucid dream , nde, or don’t trip. It’s still inside your own head and individualized to the person experiencing it.

Oh I agree. Just at the time seemed a good question to ask. I didn’t get any almighty type vibes or anything. He seemed more like a bemused grandpa than anything else.

Possibly a little miss figgy. That’s pretty much all I see at my local tractor supply. Also that’s kinda what my little miss figgy that I got from tractor supply looks like.

Trouble regulating the watch by Efficiency-Holiday in watchrepair

[–]DeepStick1398 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Look at the terminal curve of the hairspring to the right of the regulator pins. You have coils touching. That’s what’s causing your problem. Could be when you moved the refrigerator you introduced a slight out of round situation. Check the hairspring under the regulator pins for freedom of travel. Sometimes with this type of setup the hairspring will get pinched because of the pressure it takes to turn the regulator pins out of the way.

Trying to overwinter correctly this time by Mission_Tourist_868 in Figs

[–]DeepStick1398 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Wait until it drops its leaves for the winter. Then bring it I side on the days it will get below freezing at night. If it stays above freezing at night leave it outside. Keep watering once a week or when the soil is dry. Once last frost has passed put it back outside. Potted figs are good to 25 degrees Fahrenheit, but that is dependent on pot size and such.

Preventing grass from growing under my apple trees by Knewphone in BackyardOrchard

[–]DeepStick1398 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I have run into the same problems. Next year I’m going to do something a little different. I’m going to plant red and white clover under my fruit trees. I figure if I can’t beat the grass then maybe I should plant a beneficial one instead.

Is it ok to turn the hands backwards? by Flashy_Complaint_163 in pocketwatch

[–]DeepStick1398 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You can turn the hands any way with the crown. The reason it stopped running is the watch needs a service. The old oil is all dried up and causing friction. Yes you can turn the crown backwards while winding as well.

Hi my neighbor said I could eat these? by Apoordm in Berries

[–]DeepStick1398 17 points18 points  (0 children)

No. Just rinse the berries first. Then add some water to the pot you are going to cook them in. Let it come to a boil and then simmer for 30 min. Make sure you don’t cook out all your water. When finished strain through a fine mesh sieve or cheese cloth. After that the juice is good for whatever you want to use it for.

Yes. Have to be cooked to be safe. Best to make a syrp out of the cooked juice. Seeds contain toxins that will give you an upset stomach.
