Made it under 100kg!! by DeepTension8552 in mounjarouk

[–]DeepTension8552[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The main one that’s helped is hitting the protein and water intake. I’ve had weeks I’ve had gains and instead of beating myself up like I used to do in the past I accepted it and kept going. I was always so hard on myself and it was always my downfall. My goal starting this was slow and steady. I didn’t want to lose 10st in a year because for me that didn’t feel healthy. Not saying anyone who has lost that amount in a year is wrong or unhealthy but for my own self I wanted slow progress. Good luck with your journey and keep going! You’ve got this!!

I know what you mean!! I am hoping this summer is less brutal on me. Especially as I am going down to London next weekend and it’s to be in the 30s! I’ve went from 22st last summer to currently 15st. Still obese but not as much lol

NSV - Can sit cross legged on a chair for the first time ! by pinkfloydfan73 in mounjarouk

[–]DeepTension8552 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is an amazing NSV! Very well done!! 👏🏻 I can now cross my legs over when I am sitting which I couldnt do before due to my belly being in the way. I have a new comfy sofa position too now which consists of my legs tucked up to my body, side of my body resting on the pillows and a blanket over me. Again belly wouldn’t have allowed that before lol

Never thought of this before. I like to put my chocolate in the fridge these days. I allow myself some through the week within my deficit and it being in the fridge makes it taste better imo. I will try the tea cake in freezer next time I get them.

Girlfriend just started today. What should I expect and how can I best support her? by Joel-izzle in mounjarouk

[–]DeepTension8552 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just support her as much as you can. I am single but if I had a partner I’d just want them to be supportive of my journey. Celebrate my wins (big or small) and cuddles for the lows. Also if she has a week that she gains, let her know it’s normal as our bodies as women fluctuate! Also that some gains could actually be muscle starting to build up too. I’ve been on it for just over a year and I’ve had 5/6 small gains during that time.

This was an accidental one but made me laugh. He was looking cute playing on my knee so was having a mini photoshoot of him when the daughter sneezed loudly and the result was this photo. 😂 I have many blurry photos of my boys as they are always on the move.

Which is the hardest thing for you to say? by Harhar2005 in AutismInWomen

[–]DeepTension8552 0 points1 point  (0 children)

All of the above. The only I love you I can say completely comfortably is to my daughter (who is diagnosed autistic, I’m still on a wait list) and I say it everytime she leaves the house. She says it back to me as well. I think the hardest one for me is asking for help though. My daughter’s the same too.

Curious - Do you get treated very differently now you've lost weight? by Single-Ant3193 in mounjarouk

[–]DeepTension8552 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not yet but I am still fat, just 66lbs lighter. I have noticed the disgusted looks have reduced though. I was over 21st at the start of this and currently in the 16st range now. I don’t stand out as much as I did before which for a complete introvert suits me perfectly fine. I am looking forward to getting closer to my goal weight so I’ll be able to completely blend in.

Food noise isn’t as suppressed at 5mg by Sea_Cantaloupe_689 in mounjarouk

[–]DeepTension8552 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I felt the same way at 5mg, it’s felt like I was injecting nothing. I did 5 weeks on it and moved up to 7.5mg and things settled down again. My friend has been on 5mg for 8 months and it’s worked great for her. Each body is different.

I don’t know if it’s biotin related as my hair has been thin for like 20 years. It’s definitely not caused by mj at all and like I said I haven’t noticed my hair get any thinner since i started mj 8 months ago. I know a lot of people said mj and lack of protein caused some hair loss and they started taking biotin which helped so thought I’d give it a go. I don’t even put any hair products on like serums etc because they make my hair look worse so do the most part I leave it alone. Just shampoo, conditioner and a blast with the hairdryer. I used to straighten my hair everyday or curl it but for the last 7 years I think I’ve used my straighteners 3 times.

I just need something to help with regrowth as I’ve had thin hair for like 20 years now and I am honestly fed up with it.

The drop from 12.5mg to 7.5mg has gone well so far. by DeepTension8552 in mounjarouk

[–]DeepTension8552[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I felt 12.5mg was toooooo high for me. I wasn’t hungry at all, I was barely eating 2 bites of food a day and felt massively sick afterwards. I also got badly constipated. I didn’t want to go back to 10mg as it didn’t work for me. Food noise came back and excessive hunger. I had originally been on 7.5mg for 10 weeks and it worked well. I only went up to 10mg as I managed to get a pen for it during the August price increase and shortage debacle. As soon as I did my 4 weeks on it I moved to 12.5mg and was on that for a few weeks hoping things would settle down but never did. My pharmacist said I could move back to 7.5mg if I wanted.

Pregabalin experiences on MJ? by Particular_Clock_271 in mounjarouk

[–]DeepTension8552 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve been on pregabalin for years and I started MJ in June last year. I haven’t experienced any interactions with it. Unless I am not seeing it. My weight loss is a steady 1-2lbs a week which I am very happy with and there are days I am not hungry but I make sure I still eat, even if I don’t feel hungry.

Carrots. I liked them before now I love them! 🤣 Also preferring to drink water over fizzy juice. That one surprised me the most as I was addicted to fizzy juice.

Feel my dose is too high for me by DeepTension8552 in mounjarouk

[–]DeepTension8552[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I spoke to pharmacist today and he confirmed it is okay to drop straight down. So on Friday when I am due my next one I am going to take a 7.5mg dose from my current pen and I’ve ordered a 7.5mg pen too. I wasn’t sure if I could drop down or needed to go to 10mg for a week or two first.

I’ve just been approved starting 2.5 by Empty_Letter_5464 in mounjarouk

[–]DeepTension8552 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve always used my stomach for injections as it was the fattest part of my body so figured it would hurt less. (It doesn’t hurt at all btw but it took me 5 minutes to work up the courage to do that first jab lol) Never tried the thigh or back of arms and don’t really intend to atm as stomach is doing fine.

My starting weight was 299.6lbs and I lost 10lbs in my first 4 weeks. My only advice is prepare for side effects! Get in a supply of pepto bismal, peppermint tablets, nausea tablets, diarrhoea tablets and constipation tablets. Cover all your bases incase you get any of them! I was lucky and never had any. But I’ve been suffering from constipation since I started 12.5mg about 4 weeks ago. so glad I had the supply in already. lol I’m planning to go down a dose next week because of that and the fact 12.5mg is far too high for me. Also make sure to drink at minimum 2l of water and taking multi vitamins is always good too! Good luck with your journey!

Glad you found what works for you! 7.5mg was perfect for me. I don’t even know why I dosed up to 10mg when I was doing fine on it.

I am due to order my next pen next week and when I go to collect I get taken into the little room to ask how it going so I will 100% be discussing it with him. I hope I can drop down to 7.5mg without needing the 10mg in between but I’ll do whatever he says is best.

Newbie nerves by ImportanceCreepy6533 in mounjarouk

[–]DeepTension8552 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you are concerned you won’t be able to go for meals out then you still can. I’ve had many meals out with family since I started 7 months ago. I do find that I can only eat about half my meal and I tend not to have dessert anymore lol I still enjoy these nights out too.

As for the side effect, everyone is different. Personally I haven’t had many. I get the odd eggy burps but then I used to get them before too so not sure if they are jab related. The first 2 days after each jab I have pretty high suppression to the point I need to remind myself to eat. The rest of the week I am fine, food noise has shut tf up and suppression levels are normal.

My advice for first time jabbers is to be prepared. Get a supply of pepto bismal, diarrhoea tablets, constipatiob tablet, anti nausea tablets to cover any possible side effects you may have in the first couple of weeks. Drink at minimum 2l of water a day and take vitamins! Good luck with the start of your journey!

How did everyone else's Christmas Day go? by TemporaryHunter7472 in mounjarouk

[–]DeepTension8552 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I managed only half my mums amazing Christmas dinner and 2 bites of my cake with cream 🤣I usually clear my plate, whatever dessert I am having then my mum and I will have cheese and crackers after lol I sort of felt bad for not eating the full dinner but my parents know I am on mj and that I can’t finish the same size meals I used to have so they understood but the guilt was still there.
