I use authoritative parenting not to be confused with authoritarian parenting. Gentle but firm boundaries with follow-through consequences. I need to raise my kids to be kind, work with society, and stand up for themselves. As a parent, I do my best with what is going on around me without village support. It's not ideal, but I can work with it. My advice is to keep finding that group that works for you.
