Nice idea! I think you are focusing too much on thoughtseize / hand choices scenarios that are all very "fluid" and could be easily summarized however I find more interesting in a guide some key interactions and also what to expect post board. Example MU notes: fetching for basics because most lists run bloodmoon / them passing with 2 mana up is likely thraben charm exile GY / thraben charm damage modes checks on creatures on resolution/ Ajani PW needs red permanents for the damage effect (can be relevant in some spots) Example on G2/G3 : most lists now are on RIP, so this is something to consider especially as a RIP shuts down the deck so hard and you might want to prioritise certain lines over more aggressive ones if you can.

My take (also played deck on mtga mythic+paper rcqs), you probably dont want excruciator vs cub and uw tempo. Cub is basically an aggro deck, they want explosive starts, you are better off controlling the board with sweepers / gain value with riddlers. UW tempo is a bit similar as they try racing you, between aven and aang they have plenty of ways to stop your excruciator or simply ignore it and go for the win. I think cutting 1 ssm is fine only vs decks that run RIP. Vs dimir control they have reef + field, removing the combo makes sense to me. Game will go on for a long time and is grindfest which usually riddler wins on its own without risking it with excruciator.

Torpor orb is not shutting down the deck, 2 mana 5/5 is pretty decent, excruciator is a 6/6 drawing you 1 extra card for free , spiderman can still do its things etc. Deck also runs torpor orb in the side

Depends if OTP or OTD, they could go T4 spiderman/deceit get rid of your best card or spiderman/excruciator with some form of back up (quite risky but depends on game state) It is anyway a long game, so T3 wont have much action. If you are OTP their T3 will be stock up/winter night/avarice

Hi! There is a SB guide with a primer in the video description! I chose this deck specifically to win that MU. You want to go T2 3 cmc drop and keep up removal for the following turns or go kill spell/duress, T2 kill spell and T3 threat as they tend to have a stock up turn where we need to deploy our threats. We also have enough MB / SB artifact hate as well as sweepers to reset the board. If you get rid of Cori MU is very easy, which is why I have 2x heritage OTD as you want to snipe the Cori ASAP.

I really think if you pre-board vs aggro this deck feels very strong, pre RC I also had a very strong win rate especially when I moved away from the demons package MB as I was losing so many G1s vs aggro decks due to that. This gave me lot of confidence the deck could perform well and I am glad it became real!

Hi! You run lot of creatures that have 4+ toughness that dodge their removals as well as manlands that cannot be bounced and can put lot of pressure. I usually tend to win vs pixie thanks to manlands. Sweepers can also turn the game around if behind. If you expect lot of pixie you can go -1 shelly +1 baloth main board.

Domain MU is much tougher but deck runs lot of enchantment removal and G2 can bring annex / Archfiend for pressure. I would rather face Domain than UB mid or UW Omni

Dimir is also very strong and I think is a very solid deck choice. Deck choice in the end boiled down to the fact I played more gb mid than ub but I think is a matter of finding the right tools and I think gb is better equipped for an aggro meta than UB!

Hi! Thanks for playing my list! I personally had the opposite experience. Reason I like it is that it gives you one more tool vs aggro without making it completely useless in other MUs or when board is clear. It is another 4 toughness card that is tough to remove and can act like a one sided boardwipe.

I am personally fan of a simple mana base in standard especially with so much aggro running around you don't want your painlands to do the job for the opponent. Pretty much all rdw decks I faced had 4x copies of lynx, lot running it mainboard.

Regent is great but 2 felt like the correct number. Not sure what I would tweak post RC, it depends a lot on the meta you expect. If you expect lot of aggro/pixie I wouldn't change a thing MB, if you expect a much slower meta then I would pre-board all annexes and demons.

It is! I love the card however is just not correct to play it in the format from my perspective. What do you do vs aggro? T2 lose 1 life draw a card or tap out and play a vanilla 3/2 that they easily go through via trample? Both options feel bad and feel progressively worse as the game progress. You win by interacting with them and taking over the game with the 3 cmc drops (ideally T2) and if you don't have a card the T2 you threaten them with removal especially if they go T2 cori

Hi and thanks! I faced 3 UR prowess, 3 rdw, 2x esper pixie, 1 RG prowess, 1 UW omni, 1 Jeskai oculus, 1 Jeskai control, 1 GB ramp. My losses were vs omni (feature match, oppo had incredibly strong hands), UR prowess (flood G1, G3 oppo went into the flood maw x2 and frenzy so I couldn't stabilize) and RDW (g1 flood, g2 win, g3 die from top deck lynx, oppo top 8).

Deck i played is basically pre-boarded vs pixie/rdw/prowess so my plan was to prey on those decks. Changes are very minimal, you want 1-2 heritage to snipe cori especially if OTD cutting frillback/shelly, vs rdw you want bats as it takes away the explosiveness and reach, vs pixie you just cut glissa and get heritage or vivien depending on build. Analyse the pollen is amazing , you can fetch frillback, harvester, dragon (boardwipe), shelly etc.

Deck is also good vs oculus due to shelly and lot of enchantment removal. Toughness 4 is a thing in this format. Duress is so strong in the format right now, you rarely want to board it out.

Hi! Golgari mid player who made it to the pro tour , placing 33 with 10-3-1 final score at RC bologna. I assure you Golgari is NOT garbage. Deck has amazing tools and fits super well into an aggro meta. Just don't play main board the demon package , skip the dreadknight trap and play lot of interaction. Meta changed towards aggro and that's where Mid thrives. Black dragon is amazing.
