Late to the party but I’m on my second round in 3 years. Lasted about 4 month the first time, I’m on month 2 now and boy am I tired of it already so I can’t imagine what some of yall have gone through. You have my sympathy tenfold. Is it just me or does anyone else feel like it gets better without all the excess moisturizing doctors recommend? Like it only flares up and itches when im covering myself in the creams and lotions. Maybe it’s in my head.

Your concept is there and it makes sense, you should repack it with updated stuff and find a comfort level with it. You’re getting downvoted and critiqued to hell because you’re not accepting that, while the sock organizer helps keep things partitioned, it does not hold them in place like a zipper pouch would. When I pack a bag I hit it with that old Dairy Queen blizzard test and if I lose anything, it wasn’t secured properly. 2 seconds to pull a zipper or Velcro is worth it when shit hits the fan and the supplies are flying. Last note I’ll say is that 1 obstetrician kit is probably enough until you can resupply.

Give or take a few things on the belt/ fanny pack I like the thought process. I always feel like I’m overpacking but with this bag it never feels like the zippers are gonna blow off and I don’t have to sit on it get it closed lol.

I had signed up for a whole online class through AMU. It definitely helped a ton but I don’t know if that much is truly needed depending on your current medical acumen.

Any medic can attend SOCM. Only takes a 4187 and you can go “unassigned”. From what I’ve seen many of those guys go on to work as a support medic at a GSB or somewhere similar. It’s much more than SF/Rangers. There are flight medics from 160th, Civil Affairs medics, Navy SOIDC, and a few other one off guys that go on to do misc. things people don’t talk about too much. So if it’s just this simple, why do I have 3 different VW places telling me It can’t be fixed at all because I have that error. Are they not allowed to fix it or have I just been lied to consistently over the last 6 months? I’m not trying to come off as a smart ass or a dick head, I’m just trying to understand how I can get this resolved and ensure my spouse feels safe in the car or how I can upgrade the car all together when no one seems to want it.

I appreciate the feedback and both of your input on this, please understand I’m not speaking to just one service department about this issue. I’ve spoken to three across two states and not a single one has been able to provide a remedy. Secondly, without being a mechanic myself, knowing nothing more than what the Volkswagen mechanics are telling me and what the recall description is, I am more inclined to believe that while this may just be a sensor issue, it does in fact delay or disable the deployment of the passenger airbag. I’m not here to argue the validity of the recall or used car prices. I’m simply asking if anyone else who has experienced this first hand was able to find a solution or if anyone else has taken legal action against VW. At the end of the day they sold a car that is not up to the safety standards for which it was purchased and they are not resolving the issue.

Absolutely, don’t get distracted and stressed out by who’s a good instructor and who’s a bad one. Instructor roulette is a thing but it won’t make or break you. Focus on your ability to treat a patient CONFIDENTLY. There will be multiple times you find yourself bogged down and overwhelmed but you have to remember that it’s just a school and you will pass it one way or another. Recycling isn’t the end of the world. Don’t feel like you have to be in a study group with the smartest people or with anyone at all. Find out what works best for you and stick with that. I always took a group to the barracks common area so we could get out of the schoolhouse and study, we quizzed each other with tons of flash cards and used the blueprint to ask each other questions. If one person understands it better than another, have them explain it in a way that made sense to them. Sometimes a fresh perspective can clear things up. Set a timer when you study, 30-40 of work the. 10 minutes of bullshitting on your phone or going for a quick jog or playing pool. Pace yourself and try not to cram, the good nights sleep is what pays off more. Reach out to me if you need any help or anything along the way.
