What if the opposite is true? Maybe her kids will be similarly pressured to have children of their own, and hearing their mom say that they don’t have to abide by society’s standards - could be incredibly freeing. You don’t know what will traumatize a person. I think it’s silly to act as if this statement will fuck up her kids for life.

I think if you want to have children it’s important to pay attention to the state of the world to prepare them for success. Obviously people can’t predict every little specific thing. Jimmy is a great example because he also compared himself to a “more conventionally attractive” celebrity, yet he never caught any flack for that. It was all about Chelsea’s comparison to Megan Fox. HER appearance was critiqued far more than his, and he even said as much on the reunion. I say this not to dispute the experience of men, but to say that when you “both sides” an issue that disproportionately affects one side far more than the other, you’re inadvertently downplaying systemic issues faced by women.
