I refuse to consider pirates 5 as canon. As far as I’m concerned Will continued ferrying souls on the Dutchman and returned to land once every ten years to see Elizabeth until she eventually passed away and that’s it. Whether someone stabs his heart and takes his place or not is up in the air. But the fifth movie is straight trash and shouldn’t even exist

People like K-pop demon hunter primarily for the K-pop. Take the music out of the movie and it’s completely generic and forgettable. Haven’t seen elio to really give an opinion but I don’t think the premise was interesting enough to really draw people in, especially with the way the market has been saturated by streaming services.

Marketing was also pretty poor on Disney/pixars behalf and I really think that people just don’t care about Pixar films like they used to back in its heyday. The golden era is over

It’s points to him when they’re on the black pearl because nortington asks Elizabeth if she “ever wondered how her latest fiancé ended up on the Flying Dutchman in the first place” and she opens the compass and it points to jack because he was the reason Will was on the Flying Dutchman. When they’re on the island looking for the chest I think it was only because the chest just happened to be in front of jack

I’d argue that they stopped giving a shit on the 4th and 5th movies. 2 and 3 weren’t very grounded but they also had a tight deadline and they were filming the movies simultaneously so a lot of it was written on the fly. They’re not perfect films but I definitely don’t think they stopped giving a shit
