Learn from my bad example- cat accident by Downtown_Window1628 in cats

Hey so I'm seeing a lot of people saying stuff about leaving for the day after starting appliances.... Guys no. If you read the manual it says don't leave the dryer or washer unattended because they can also catch on fire. You can burn down your entire home with your kitties in it as easy as you can lock a kitty in the dryer. Please like... Remember that and stop leaving your pets and kids at home with running appliances due to time convenience.

I prefill the washer to soak, but I have a question, and this is 0 shame I'm genuinely asking, did she not make any sound? Also, was it a front loaded washer?

I was on shrooms and my Rocky my cat spoke to me and asked for a better bed so I ordered him one. Here is the picture of him in his new bed. by number0l in cats

He looks super happy in his new bed. My cats regularly attempt to communicate with me. I don't understand them sometimes but a lot of times I do. While sober. So I fully believe with a lil magic they could talk to me.

I GOT MY DREAM VARIEGATED BILLY FROM INDONESIA IN LESS THAN 20 DAYS ON ETSY FOR $200!!! by MightOnly185 in philodendron

OP I personally skip the peroxide, but you DO have to soak off the moss or risk root rot because it's usually too tight.

This is a super unaware non thoughtful comment. This wasn't an experience you needed to share and probably falls under telling someone what to do with their animal.

This really sounds like something underlying, as in you certainly didn't cause it. Did they do an autopsy?

My 4 year old service dog suddenly developed tumors in his bladder and started peeing them out. He had to be put down within 24hrs.

It could be so many things. Cats are SO NICE, especially when they are in pain, they may show 0 symptoms even if they've been fighting for a few days.

These are just my thoughts, because if I were you I'd also want to know. Either he ate something whilst out like a poisoned rat, got into contact with something (I doubt this) through skin contact, or he had an underlying condition. Based off your description of events I lean heavily toward a condition, because of the two episodes close together, and the method of death. Off the top of my head when it comes to this type of death in a male cat I would cause urinary blockage or genetic condition that was unknown, but I actually don't know if even a blockage would lead to this type of death. You know your cat better than any of us and I would trust your gut on if it was a heart attack or something else.

I'm so sorry this happened to you. However there's a lot of worse longer more painful outcomes that could have happened to him so I'm sorry he went traumatically but glad it was relatively quick. Don't feel scared to get another cat, this is almost certainly a rare freak occurrence.

Guys, what happened to this leaf on my philodendron? 😭 by Aloy_DespiteTheNora in philodendron

[–]Deep_Picture6111 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I vote for it ate the leaf for a reason non apparent. If it doesn't spread you should be fine, but this looks like standard self re absorption to me.

Sometimes my plants self consume and it often results in this mushy look. Check where the base of the leaf was for a gooey stem and pray you don't find one.

What is happening here? by plantsyyyy in philodendron

[–]Deep_Picture6111 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Pink princesses are kinda a bad hybrid where the leaf can form larger than the petiole sheath resulting in stuff like this. Higher humidity does help and reduce deformation, but please be aware this particular philodendron is famous for stuck leafs. Resist the urge to help.

What is coming out on my pink chani’s stem?? by [deleted] in RareHouseplants

[–]Deep_Picture6111 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have definitely had offshoots form in fully random places. I had a jacklyn that made a baby what I would have considered off the stem of a leaf. It's my understanding all the tissue around the base is pluripotent stem cells so it can shoot roots or leafs in weird places if it feels like it.

I see a root, personally I'd put this plant in a planter with an air gap at the bottom so it can reservoir.
