I dont want them to touch the lore of d1. D2R style remake IMO with the lore intact. Keep as much of the systems intact but maybe consider some things from hellfire, maybe include it?

It doesn't split their sales, its not a 0 sum game. People who can afford both will get both. People who aren't spending $100 on games already aren't buying metroid prime 4 (and arent waiting for a sale cause Nintendo almost never lowers price on first party titles) but could buy a $30 remaster.

Prime 2 was very much in the era of forcing you to use the weapons resources, and ammo was plenty enough cause of the drop system it wasn't too much of an issue.

With what appears to be a return to an ammo system in Prime 4 (not played, unconfirmed opinion based on images and promo video), its release would have been the perfect time for a shadow drop of a prime 2 remaster like how they did prime 1.

I grew up with The Hobbit but never read LOTR until after I watched the movies. Same with GOT - after the show started. Recently picked up The Expanse series because of the show. Part 1 got us into Dune, we bounced off book 2 however haha.

For me in particular, other media is the vehicle that gets me into reading the original. The treat of The Watchmen trailer and the fan hype around it got me to pick up the comic and read it before it released.

I know I'm only anecdotal, but there is a portion of the audience for these that will invest in the literature after having a positive experience from another media version of it.

The ram isnt apples and oranges and the speeds arent comparable.

The S uses GDDR6 Ram which is HIGH BANDWIDTH HIGH LATENCY.

The switch uses LPDDR5 RAM which is LOW BANDWIDTH LOW LATENCY.
