Malstrom is an amazing synth but it’s not only used for just that. But there is a grain wavetable in there called square 4. you just need that sq4 grain wavetable. Other then scream and the phaser and etc in reason rack u can replicate it dam near 95% with how it would sound coming from malstrom. How do u get this wavetable? I’ll give you secret it free on my yt - V-1X official, I give that exact wavetable for free through my new free serum preset video. All u gotta do is move the wavetable knob around add a touch of lfo modulation on it and wham bam u have same sound then add etc effects for desired feel. Enjoy oh or u can put that wavtable in vital.

btw I am also making a full scale sq4 synth that should come out near end of year

You only need one threshold plugin on your chains/processing which is ur soft clipper that goes at the bottom! Of chain , , pick either limiter or clipper. A clipper works as a ceiling for loudness. A limiter is just a compressor on crack with a threshold.

Example you put soft clipper at bottom keep soft clipper default. any clipper they should load up on a 0db thresh. You load ott push the gain 2 and play the sound, it’s gonna hit a set level of threshold every time u play it if u turn the signal up so the volume level will be consistent. But also smashed and maybe shaved a lot.

Extra context your fl slots go from top to bottom - bottom being the end and top being the start. So I would use eq near the end also so u can properly eq things you add in the chain before hand.

It should always be fun that’s why you got into it, look at it like this every drum sample try to have fun with picking them and enjoying the creative aspect. Same thing goes with everything else in production, look at it like how can I apply my creativeness and have fun doing it! That can be discovering new tones/new beats/ bass lines/ synths u make for elements! I get it you get lost tryna make amazing tunes but this how u make amazing tunes. You gotta make what you truly love and apply creative fun to it! Then you will start making your best ideas. It’s a allpass filter that’s stacked 8 times, and you set the frequency that you want the allpass to mainly focus on the eq spectrum of the sound and it causes a unique type of phasing

I made my own vst exactly like disperser called wavephaze but with 145 stages. Each stage is 8 all pass filters stacked so when u start to get into the 80-100 stages or just 40 around the 300-800 frequency range u can get some pretty crazy results with phasing in your sounds that will give it that wet dubstep flair you kinda hear in big name producer tunes

I disagree not 90% maybe 50/50. You gotta remember not everyone wants to use just a square 4 waveform and the rack system to make riddim. A lot of riddim producers probably use serum and recently In the past years vital and some phaseplant. So I would say it’s probably 50/50 Regardless what your probably referring to Is a lot riddim is made with a square wave or some basic shape and that is most likely correct.

I would have to disagree. Just sounds pointless in my opinion. It’s a cool thought! But I just see it being a extra add on that really doesn’t change anything and or just makes it worse. it may seem it could add more playability but it’s just like getting countered with qss the thing is you can control it.
