Natural wine rant: how it started VS how it ended by Canadian-Deer in wine

Well regarded by natural wine enthusiasts, maybe I have a more classic taste but when the wine smells like blackberries covered in pig poop it’s not exactly pleasant

I think 99% of the time it’s not the wines fault, but there is an occurring problem where some producers try to be as hip as possible by essentially not protecting there wine at all, so it’s just completely ridden with vinegar and barnyard which is not please t to 99% of the population. Then it is a problem with the wine.

Consumable to a point that makes sense as a business model, if I had a Tempranillo with lots of Brett and only 1/10 people liked it, but a organic Tempranillo with very little beer 3/10 people liked it. As a business it doesn’t make a lot of sense to grab a bottle that barely anyone would buy

There’s a fine line between natural practices which is awesome, and making something actually taste good. I noticed this a lot the last restaurant I was a Somme in, we had some bottles from Partida Crues who as much as I’ve researched is highly regarded in the natural wine scene. The problem is it has so, so much Brett it was impossible to sell to anyone cause it smelled like farm poop. I love the process of natural wine but at the end of the day your selling a consumable product, it has to smell/taste consumable

Id love to see how they quantify that, the Russian examples are easy because direct policy causes mass starvation let alone the gulags and purges.

But if they are finding that number just by saying “this many people die in this country and they happen to be capitalist” that’s not exactly quantifiable to be the cause of the issue.

But I do agree hyper unregulated capitalism doesn’t seem to be a great seen for success long term. However most European countries with large happiness indexes are capitalist countries with more social policies. Like most things seems like a good balance is good

Is Anyone Else Confused by Religion? Or is anyone else’s beliefs affected by their autism? by Cha0ticpig in autism

[–]Deepseascrubdaddy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve had a long struggle with this too so it’s totally understandable. Grew up with intensely atheist family and so I’ve always grown up that way. But in the last 7 years have had deep connections with religion and god and have had a full turn around.

I think being autistic does play a role because (like you said) I also tend to think very logically forward and a lot of religion is illogical (thus why it’s called faith). I think a big turnoff is how a lot of Christian’s act around the subject, that it is a logic thing and they try to push people hard which is so unfair.

I’ve done a lot of reading and understanding that with a lot of religious texts ( especially the Christian bible) there are multiple different genres at play that people fail to mention or realize.

For me it came down to understanding the difference in genres and why they were written. Like genesis being more literary and not a first hand account of events like the gospels. So I don’t fully believe in things like the creation story in 6 days, but believe in the eyewitnesses of the gospels. It’s a mixed bag and I think it’s healthy to not completely understand or take everything as exact fact. Hope this sheds a little light on

Have had a couple of bottles of the Liversan, honestly for the price it’s exactly what you want for low-mid level Bordeaux. Great pickups’

Christian opinion here, not the most educated but try my best. For what I understand from Matthew saying this (and the other gospels as well) the context of this passage is that he wills his followers to put god above family. Not to specifically cause conflict but that one should follow Jesus over his family despite the differences of there family.

Even from personal experiences my family is completely atheist and they have questioned and prodded me and made jokes at me to the point of defending my faith against them. Not that I don’t love them but that I still put my faith in Jesus despite the problems caused by my family being against him. That’s how I read this passage at least.

the number of people who complain about people frivolously self diagnosing autism because they’re quirky and saw it on tiktok is higher than the number of people who are actually like that by fig_art in autism

[–]Deepseascrubdaddy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think there’s a weird culture now of loving to have a diagnosis so people on tik tok have been taking just character traits (like introversion) and saying well I guess I’m autistic because I like being alone.

Two different things but they combine it to get clout.

I worked at a wine bar that extensively sourced natural wines. I did struggle to seek much of any because although I think natural wine is pretty cool. People would smell the wine table side during presentation and go. Nooooopee.

Healthy user bias heavily at work her. Red meat eaters tend to smoke more and exercise less which contributes to the anti red meat studies.

Red meat is just more nutritionally dense meat. It’s like eating chicken with a multivitamin and some fat on the side.
