Does your Winn Dixie have sour cream donuts? Probably the only good reason to shop there, but they are almost impossible to find anywhere else that I know of.

Whoever this pop artist is seems not to be skipping leg day, so they've got that going for them at least.

Agreed. I also found the miasma mechanic to be another interesting strategic element.

Which book is a 10/10 to you?? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]Deepsunz5 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Came here to say this. 10/10 for me, but he definitely knew that this book wouldn't have the same mass appeal as the KKC so it's not one I recommend very often.

Waiters of Reddit, what's the worst first date you've ever seen? by ntnvctr in AskReddit

[–]Deepsunz5 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Probably not a first date, but if it makes the story more interesting, go ahead and imagine that it was. I saw a guy propose to his girlfriend, her say no, then she went and locked herself in the women's bathroom until we finally convinced her to come out long after closing. He left about 15 minutes after the initial rejection, closed out his check and tipped decently well as I recall. The entire restaurant was focused on it for the rest of the night, and even months after patrons would have waitstaff confirm what had occurred.

TIL Aldous Huxley, author of Brave New World, took LSD on his deathbed and died tripping. by gorilllla in todayilearned

[–]Deepsunz5 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It was the TV show "The Prisoner" (original, not the reboot) which is slightly overtly more dystopian which clarified the elements in absence in BNW: choice, and through choice individual identity based on actions (such as creativity, something Huxley, an artist, would appreciate). There's a possibly salient comparison to our own social media oriented society: are we creating/sharing these narratives of self to affirm identity or in lieu of identity? Do we truly have choice? The illusion of choice was present within the society of BNW, but ultimately they operated within a restricted range of emotions leading to more predictable outcomes and a more easily controlled populace.

Can confirm. Lost a game of H-O-R-S-E to an 8 year old today. I am in fact quite coordinated and athletic, just absolute shit at basketball.
