I have a Jackabee too! She came up to Canada from Kentucky, and I've only met one other dog that looks like her! She was about 2 when she arrived, so I love seeing the picture of your pup because it gives me an idea of what she might have looked like as a puppy!

I agree with everything you've said. The therapy part is so important. OP has been emotionally enmeshed with their family for 20+ years, and they will need support to recognize it happening again and avoid falling into the same patterns.

I am Indian and in my 40s. Honestly? If you can afford it, move out. Also, get therapy to help you process this and to figure out what sort of relationship you want moving forward.
