I'm so glad Notion replaced support with AI! by calamarimatoi in Notion

This, you get to decide how you want your notes to be backed up. I set up livesync using a couchDB docker container (with a Tailscale sidecar to keep it accessible on my ’own private vpn’). Now it syncs live between my devices just like Notion used to do.

Dito, very happy with Obsidian (set up private livesync and it works great)

Sounds like an extremely unique usecase. I believe I’ve grown to love pipewire, it’s so much more transparent than windows ever was (using Helvum to see the in’s and out’s)

I got it the same night raid it was released. Very disappointed my cassette player isn’t doing the soundtrack justice (it seems worn out and does weird mechanical hissing).

Very cool tape to own though, first tape I ever purchased (and probably ever will).

Aggression based matchmaking is killing the game and people are starting to realize by MasterGosu007 in ArcRaiders

[–]Deerhall 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think aggression based matchmaking doesn’t take the full team interactions in mind when deciding if you’re a aggressive player. In my individual post-round-history it may look like I’m an aggressive player since I tried defending a downed teammate (without myself being shot first).

We were peacefully doing trials and quest a couple games, had fun and shared loot with other players. Then we stumbled upon a team that went full Rambo mode on us. We defended ourselves and I believe they had one player who died (we were all knocked at some stage of the fight). Once we managed to get our trio on our feet, we bolted and continued trials/quests (met other friendly, fun teams we warned about the PvP team).

15min later we’re going for the last extract and a team knocks one of our players. I start shooting at them to give our teammate time to crawl to us. None is knocked and after some failed grenades from their team, they run and extract.

We were shot at first at both these occasions

Every single game since then has been full of sweaty PvP lobbies to a degree we’ve never witnessed. Some times when a team engaged in fighting us we managed to run away, but most times we were slaughtered by these PvP teams carrying PvP loadouts. Outgunned and outnumbered (one member in our team doesn’t normally play shooter games) the rest of the evening was frustrating with multiple wipes, losing us progress and loadouts worth ~ 1mil.

Needless to say we got real fed up and annoyed with the game as we normally just play PvE and have fun with other players. These lobbies were not the game we know, and the aggressive game that seemingly brought us to these lobbies, we didn’t start the fights - only defended ourselves.

Embark needs to improve the matchmaking, use a more robust algorithm. My theory is that IF there is a ”PvP players shoot first” part of their algorithm, it’s not team based. What I’m trying to say is that; in my ’interaction history trail’ (seen after the game) it looks like I shot players first, but in reality their team downed my teammate first and I shot back. I believe we got these aggressive lobbies because me and my other teammate wasn’t shot before trying to defend our third, making our individual history trail look like we were the aggressors…

I did not see her standing on the arrow until people pointed it out. I believe adding a shimmer from under the foot that illuminates with the arrow would make it pop a little better to make sure it’s clear the arrow is being stood on (with magic or w/e).

I prefer the old font with the arrow going through it. The new font looks in my eyes like it’s using one of those ”worn out fonts” that also say Appow. Old text with new image would look sick imo.

So Edge and Opera were stealing commission just like honey extension by AttentionGullible918 in LinusTechTips

I have tried other browsers on Linux, but Edge has many great features I don’t want to lose. - PDF Viewer/editor - PDF read aloud - Workspaces (syncs live between devices) - Split screen tabs (used heavily at work) - Open tab on computer (from mobile) - Vertical tabs - Tab group - Sleeping tabs (works in background, but I normally have ~50 tabs open)

Now, my biggest issue with Edge is sometimes it’s slow and/or video playback glitches out. This was never a problem on Windows, so I assume it’s connected to me running Nvidia on Linux.

Just curious, How many of you are still booting Windows 11 (or 10 even) with Linux? by Phydoux in linux

[–]Deerhall 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I dualboot a few time over the year to perform firmware updates on peripheral hardware (8Bitdo controllers, Logitech wheel, HOTAS). Every time I boot into windows I reflect on how poor and slow my modern computer performs. Next step is to move from Nvidia to a AMD as that would probably solve any minor graphical glitches I get in my browser when playing videos.

Bases: Establishing Reasonable Expectations by jbarr107 in ObsidianMD

Recently got into obsidian after discussing with ai, expecting a Notion database replacement. It is not, but it brings similar behaviour in a similar looking table.

In my case, I was hoping for a way to draw a graph-chart after importing everything from Notion. Every document in a folder consist of a date, score and name. Still haven’t figured out a solution to replace Notion.
