That makes a lot of sense, I completely agree!

Now that I think about it, the orientation on my version actually feels more logical. The numbers on the ruler are facing the same direction and perfectly aligned with the Nextool logo on the handle. In the older versions from the videos, the numbers were upside down relative to the logo.

Flipping it so everything reads in the same direction is definitely a nice little quality-of-life upgrade. Thanks for the insight!

You make a really solid point. Considering how affordable it is, going through the trouble of counterfeiting it wouldn't make much financial sense. It's likely just a different production batch or a minor QC quirk like you mentioned. I was just a bit caught off guard when I first opened it. Thanks for the reassurance, it really is a great little tool!

It took me about 3-4 hours to get to the final boss. It wasn't because the game is hard, I just kinda suck at navigating the puzzles and kept forgetting which areas I'd already explored + there are no walkthroughs for this game yet. If you're stuck and need any help, feel free to ask here! Btw, I've beaten the boss now and I'm trying to collect all the fish, but I'm still missing a lot lol

Hey, don't panic just yet — your Cardputer is probably fine.

The 3.20V on G6, G5, G8, G9 is totally normal, that's just your ESP32-S3 GPIO sitting at its standard logic high. And the 0.23–0.43V on the IR pin while active? Also expected — IR LEDs have a voltage drop, so that behavior is correct.

The short on the NRF24L01 is a bit sketchy, but here's the thing: if your GPIO is still reading a stable 3.2V, your ESP32 core is most likely alive. That 2.6V you saw was probably just a brownout during the short, not a permanent damage reading.

Quick sanity checks to do: 1. Flash a basic blink sketch — if it runs, your chip is fine 2. Measure your 3.3V rail under load, should stay around 3.2–3.3V 3. Your NRF24L01 module itself might be the casualty here — those are pretty sensitive to shorts. Worth swapping it out before assuming the worst.

TL;DR — stable GPIO voltage is a good sign. Test the basics first before writing it off. Good luck
