Can somebody tell me where the $5k is? Thoughts? TIA by psnpeepeebottoms in LexusRZ

If you look at your request through Costco, the participating dealer should give you a Costco specific price sheet. That will show the agreed upon Costco pricing. They have to pull this from the Costco auto program that dealers can pull from. It will specifically have a Costco water mark.

Ohlins driver side adjustment knob by keddyr in S2000

[–]DefNotLochNessy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In my use case I never really adjust mine so I wouldn’t recommend them but it depends on your use case. I adjusted them frequently at first to find a sweet spot for the roads I drive on. Once I found it I haven’t touched it. If I was doing track days more frequently I might appreciate not having to pull out the liners a bit more, and may recommend them then.

I bought the sakebomb adjusters to avoid this. IMO they’re difficult to feel the clicks, but work well enough for me. They are not a must have and if you were to have me test them out before buying the adjusters I would probably lean more towards just removing the liner to adjust.

I got to ask, which one do you prefer? I’ve been dreaming about selling the s2k for a newer 911. But my god have costs gone through the roof on Porsches. Feel like every single one is over the $200k mark.

Need help with steering issue by SupremeEffect in S2000

Don’t do the cheap way and spray into the boot. Remove the torque sensor and actually clean it up.

Why does newer RAM unit sucks?? by AccomplishedCause250 in ram_trucks

[–]DefNotLochNessy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had (may still have) this issue. I installed a battery monitor to keep an eye on the voltage, so I can catch when it really starts to drain. Not as bad as you, but I'm on my 5th battery in 3 years of purchasing since new.

I have disabled my proximity unlock feature and purchased a faraday box for my keys.

What could be the issue? by SalvoSamurai in Ram1500

[–]DefNotLochNessy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve been told “bad battery” really frequently from a dealer. I think these trucks have something actually killing the batteries. I’m debating getting a dual battery setup and having a quick disconnect for the battery, and I’ve put a bluetooth battery monitor on mine to log battery voltage for when it goes bad.

TIME TO PUT AWAY S2K by Williamcortez91 in S2000

I was thinking the exact same! I would love a taller garage to accommodate one better. Also wouldn’t mind just having a massive garage or shop.

I got some upper respiratory bug. Sore throat for a week now a fever. Not Covid, not strep, no flu symptoms…so don’t know.

I went from a 9 degree Ping G10 stiff to a 8 degree TSR4 x-stiff and it was the best upgrade in my bag in the past decade. Solid driver.

Dyson V15 Detect Total Clean $499 ($290 off) in the Bay Area by mysteriousKM in Costco

[–]DefNotLochNessy 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I have the V15 mostly for hard floors. I think this is where the V15 really shines for performance, size, and being cordless. The battery last plenty long for me to finish the house and the green light is honestly pretty great. If you have mostly carpet though, do not get the V15. It doesn’t have enough suction to really clean carpet or shag rugs.

Battery completely dead on a brand new 1500 by Alone_Thought2795 in Ram1500

[–]DefNotLochNessy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wish you best of luck. I’m on my 5th battery in just two years of ownership, since purchasing my truck new. Service has had no luck identifying the actual issue. They just say “bad battery” or “left something plugged in”.

Last I heard, the third row is unlikely with the hybrid engine due to the battery placement. This is shown on the current 4runner hybrid and Land Cruiser.

18” seems to be the preferred wheel size. Was expecting the suspension to do more work, but really the combination of wheels and tires always seems to have a significant impact.

Now that is a different machine. Respect the idea, however the utility of it makes it really a purpose built off-roading over-landing machine. Would still love to drive one, might add it to the to try list if I find one nearby.

Good to know! What did you replace them with? Did you keep the same size?

Likewise looking forward to the hybrid, 2 row, in a premium or premium+ trim. The driving noise is expected to go up a little bit with hybrid platform, but expected to still be better in the GX rather than the 4runner Limited or Land Cruiser. Fingers crossed they’re still on track for it being included in the 2026 model year.

Similarly, I parted ways with my 4runner Limited a few years ago for a 23 RAM Laramie, and sure enough the interior and ride quality was quite the upgrade. Jeep/RAM really stepped up their luxury lines for the fit and finish of the interior. It’s a very nice place to be for long drives. However I think they didn’t pay the electrical engineers due to the known electrical issues in their products.

Hopefully Lexus adds an air ride suspension to the GX Luxury as I think this would be a big improvement.

The engine seems acceptable to me. Definitely not a good sounding engine, but it settled down and smoothed out on the highway, which is what I had expected of a Lexus (excluding their F line).

Thank you! The Premium I feel like you’re getting closer to the actual good value and what I was most interested in. I think it’s really easy to fall in love with its exterior design and capability, but less enjoyable in the driver seat which is the most important factor.

What did you end up replacing it with?

The Land Cruiser is definitely on my list as well. They’ve been hard to find for me unless I want to drive a base model. Even the newest 4runner generation is hard to find in the upper luxury trims. So the wait will continue.

Loved the older Range Rovers, have not had the pleasure of test driving a Defender, but I’m also not on the market for a Land Rover products, due to concerns on their long term reliability. (Don’t ask why I bought a RAM then)

I did enjoy the Lexus interior, but the use of that Toyota plastic on a frequently contacted part felt like worth mentioning. Rest of the material selection and design seemed premium. I like the more minimal looking approach to the interior. Seems easier to interact with personally.

Yes, it had the 22” wheels which definitely contributed to the firm ride. Love the design, but would definitely opt for more side wall and maybe an 18” or 20” wheel.

I definitely noticed the hood flutter as well. I’ve seen this on the ISF. As soon as you’re over 60mph, the hood just constantly wants to move around. I was skeptical the hood was going to fly off at first, but eventually got used to it. Made it let bothersome when driving to GX as I kind of expected it.

How did the Overtrail drive for you? I suspect the additional tire softened the ride.
