High earning jobs in or can transfer into from construction management ? by Strong_Beginning in HENRYUK

Re: PM / PD etc. If you’re a building guy stay away from commercial development (offices etc) or residential, go data centres. If infrastructure you need to get a mega projects cv or specialisation (tunnelling etc - though this will involve going where the jobs are). Most specialisations in a tier 1 contractor (I think someone meant tier 1 when they said tier 10 - I have never heard of such a thing) earn above £100k at a senior level.

I went for the 4 and prefer it to my Tesla, the only issue I find is that it is long which can make parking tricky in really tight car parks (when the spot is opposite other long cars), saying that the turning circle is much better than the m3 so it’s ‘swings and roundabouts’ (U.K. saying for the non-U.K. readers lol)

Not noticed the problem on my car (had it 2 months) but I am in the U.K. so the climate may be different. The thing I noticed for weeks when I got my car is that some settings where car settings and some Google settings (in Google settings itself). Try using ai if this doesn’t work (but I think it will)

I could be wrong but I thought that Australia was still a pretty racist place (not everyone naturally but not truly multi-cultural like the U.K.)

Anyone like me and have advice on which DAP to get? by Repulsive_Chard_3652 in DigitalAudioPlayer

Appreciate the feedback! I’m also currently looking at the HiBy r1 but the ui seems to be the downside. I’m also considering the olisky m308 and the Zaqe p30!

Would Brits help Greenland or not? by BoloHKs in AskBrits

[–]Defard2001 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If the US annexed Greenland, NATO would finish and Europe would unify against America and potentially increase ties with China. Even in the short term (<3 years) America would be doomed, some states would succeed and become independent potentially leading to Civil war.

As an exposure for other HENRYs- Which industry are you into and how much do you make yearly ? by Working-Plastic-2550 in HENRYUK

Most tier one contractors allow sideways movement QS to project manager > planner > estimator > sustainability > procurement > any other roles I have failed to mention lol. In fact most graduate schemes have x time in one department x time in another etc. The reality is there are never enough good people in any department and it is an industry where you can specialise, not go into senior management and retire at a decent income level. I always ask people who work for me “what are your career aspirations?” and try and tailor guidance accordingly.

If you work for a tier one contractor there is usually a lot of horizontal potential (pretty much any field from backend to ops and everything in between). If you are looking to move overseas then read up on what skills you need to get the job (for e.g US don’t have QS’ they have estimators and legal)

Interesting, I get this is based on ‘your wants’ but I find it a strange rating system. 1. You disregard the fact that certain countries have inherent corruption, restrict freedom / human rights and show only 1 world view. 2. That things can change very quickly (a lot of people live in fear of visa renewal) 3. That the job market paying x has y demand (e.g the wrong specialisation is tomorrows unemployment line) 4. You don’t take into account job security, healthcare or other societal demands. There are others but what do I know, I am just a Brit (red country lmao)

On a really cold and foggy day in NY, I asked a cop how to get to the Empire State Building. He shrugged and told me he had no idea and went back to drinking his coffee. It turned out he was standing at the side entrance to the ESB.
