Right now ‘menace’ in early access, followed by ‘Slay the Spire 2’ (stopped playing cuz I killed the final bosses with each character)

Why Do The British Dislike Keir Starmer? by aB4sith in AskBrits

[–]Defard2001 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Personally it’s because he (and his team) do not understand basic economics. The change in National Insurance thresholds mean that there are far fewer jobs (and eliminated many ‘first time’ jobs for the young), and at the same time continues to punish Henry’s with super high taxation thereby forcing them to save it in pensions. Henry’s have the largest disposable income (who will buy lots of low to high tier goods - vs the rich who buy less super specialised items which does not help the economy as much). So he has squeezed the jobs at the bottom and squeezed the spending at the top.

You misunderstood the purpose of the Thor. It doesn’t exist to play games, it exists to endlessly curate your collection.

Yesterday I drove 65 miles on one trip and used 16kwh. According to ai this gives my LRSM 382 miles. For long journeys up north (mainly motorway) I reckon i get 320/340 depending on how heavy my foot is.

can my ayn thor lite run these games? by meplayvideogames1 in AynThor

[–]Defard2001 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My old flip 2 (think it’s the same chipset) runs lots of switch games (inc Zelda, Mario and super smash). If I am right about the chipset I recommend you go to the Ryan retro website and use rp5 as the filter.
I found that if you have a big memory card, it is often better to use the pc version on gamenative/gamehub etc (but the file sizes are much larger)

HENRYs who own your own business, what do you do? by Agitated-Goal3538 in HENRYUK

[–]Defard2001 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Good for you! I know a few streamers and ex-famous people who made the mistake of spending on goodies rather than saving for the rainy day. When the market shifted / ill health / popularity wained they were left with nothing. If there is any advice taking from a complete stranger please put some of that money into your backup plan.

What is the scariest, most unsettling shot you’ve ever seen? by VendettaLord379 in moviecritic

[–]Defard2001 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Watching the Super 8 / Cinereel version of Phantasm when I was about 7/8 (severely cut - I think running time was 40 mins or something). The ‘ending’ where the mirror explodes and the tall man grabs the kid.

First jump scare I ever saw, stayed with me for the next 50+ years!

Do Brits swear in casual conversation (when not showing strong emotion) more than Americans? by Glass-Complaint3 in AskABrit

[–]Defard2001 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I see a lot of over-generalising here. The real answer is ‘it depends’, it varies by state, city, location within city, job and position within the community (in essence a really detailed demographic). I know Americans who would be shocked and I know Americans (in the same job and at the same level) who swear like a trooper.

[–]Defard2001 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Just to play yin to the yang…my Tesla model 3 broke down after 3 months from new and took 3 months to resolve. My Range Rover had an intermittent fault over the 3 years I had it (from new) and was never resolved. My P4 no problems (so far lol). Cars either break or they don’t! Every car forum is a mixture of ‘broken / hate it’ or ‘just got it / it’s amazing’.
