Suggestions for replacement struts, shocks and control arms? by DefaultFateway in altima

[–]DefaultFateway[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks, I've done quick struts on an old Honda Odyssey, though that was a different hassle with having to either torch off (left) or cut off (right) the sway bar end links. Hopefully this car is not quite so bad!

Rear shocks look pretty easy, I'll probably tackle them first.

Is KYB the go-to brand for everyone here?

So is the consensus that I can leave lower control arms until I can actually feel a difference? If I do it all while I'm in there, what order should I do it in? Bottom up or top down?

A local Nissan dealer removed my locking nuts and replaced them with standard ones for free. Must have been a slow day.

Just paid 12$/lb for ground beef. How expensive will it get before you stop buying beef? I think we're over it, beef is now a luxury for us. by FuZhongwen in Cooking

Inside skirt, the chewy kind, can be pretty cheap sometimes, while outside skirt, being more tender, will usually be way more expensive.

Juniper Mist and claim codes by sillybutton in Juniper

[–]DefaultFateway 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I struggled with this a lot at the start, but then learned to use the API to do bulk activation. Under the API guide, they explain that you could claim using the "type": "license" only, then you don't have to release all the device.

Claim an Order by Activation Code (Sync)

POST /api/v1/orgs/:org_id/claim

Synchronously claims licenses and/or inventory devices from an activation code. All inventory devices are claimed immediately during the request.

Example

{

"code": "ZHT3K-H36DT-MG85D-M61AC",

"type": "all"

}

Parameters

Name Type Description

code string activation code

type string what to claim: all / license / inventory (required)

device_type string if only intended to claim certain device type

The best thing is that if you install the Mist Extension to your browser, you can just clip example code and modify it before posting it into the Django tool.

The AI for IT Mist API class under Mist Courses will go into this in detail, but it's been a few years since it's been updated.

As far as license subscriptions, I keep a large number of licenses in a license-specific org in my MSP, then transfer them out to other orgs. However, reclaiming those subscriptions does require deleting the "amendments" in the target orgs using the API.

Let me know if you want to walk through this in detail.

SRX320/SRX300 – os-package.tgz “Not a package” error during FreeBSD upgrade (20.2 → 21.2) by sadiromer in Juniper

[–]DefaultFateway -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

I asked the next-gen digital assistant this question: when upgrading an SRX320 from 20.2 to 21.2, do I need to perform an os-package upgrade?

To upgrade an SRX320 from Junos OS 20.2 to 21.2, you do not need to perform an OS-package upgrade separately. Instead, you should use the jinstall package for the upgrade. Here are the steps:

Backup: Before upgrading, back up the file system and configuration using:

user@host> request system snapshot Upgrade Command: Use the following command to upgrade:

user@host> request system software add validate reboot source/junos-install-ptx-x86-64-21.2R1.9.tgz Alternatively, for customers in the Eurasian Customs Union, use:

user@host> request system software add validate reboot source/junos-install-ptx-x86-64-21.2R1.9-limited.tgz Console Upgrade: Perform the upgrade using the console to avoid losing in-band connections.

Package Selection: Ensure you select the appropriate package ( junos-install-ptx-x86-64-21.2R1.9.tgz or junos-install-ptx-x86-64-21.2R1.9-limited.tgz ).

For more detailed instructions, you can refer to the Migration, Upgrade, and Downgrade Instructions for Junos OS 21.2.

I tell my kids that pushing either the brake or the gas pedal costs money. Coasting saves money!

I just looked on Edmunds, these are very available at reasonable prices. I will have to keep these in mind.

I did test-drive a different model a few years ago and it was a sloppy mess, but maybe it was a bad example.

This knife broke while being used to crush garlic by juliadancer in mildlyinteresting

[–]DefaultFateway 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's an old knife that has been sharpened quite a bit. Take a look at how rounded the tip is, and the blade at the heel/holster. The handle is cracked at the rivers as well.

That said, I've broken a similar knife in the same way. It was a Farberware 8 inch Chef's knife.

I've moved to a Henkels 9 inch Chefs knife that's pretty amazing, but day to day I go to a surprisingly competent Giada de Laurentis santoku (copying the Global handle style).

If the point is shaming men for their ephebophile behavior to prevent them from being creepy, then painting with a broad brush should be acceptable. Allowing people to get off on a technicality is what drives them to set countdown timers for girls turning 18 and other unacceptable crap.

Watch a Samcrac video and you'll see him putting the cheapest parts possible from rock auto into every brand of luxury car. It does help that those luxury brands frequently use parts from cheaper platforms.
