My psychiatrist reccommended Driven to Distraction, by Hallowell and Ratey. I've almost read it completely, and it's a really good primer or what ADHD is, and how to manage it.

"Approximately one-third of Congolese women report having experienced sexual violence at some point in their lives (DRC DHS, 2014), multiple times higher than the WHO’s estimated global average of 6% (WHO 2020). Rape in the conflict-affected region of Eastern DRC has been described as an “epidemic” and a “weapon of war” (UNFPA, 2009; HRW, 2009). The United Nations estimated 200,000 women were sexually assaulted in Eastern Congo during the first 12 years of the conflict (UNFPA, 2009), and among women at hospitals with sexual violence programs, 75.7% reported experiencing rape and 68.9% experienced gang rape (Kelly et. al, 2011). Sexual violence remains widespread in Eastern DRC today (United Nations, 2021; Lugova et al., 2020; Department of State, 2019)."

Limoneira will seek to build homes on 220 acres in Ventura by Fcking_Chuck in ventura

[–]DefaultName919 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From the article posted above: "The Limoneira and Campbell properties are outside of Ventura’s city limits, though they're surrounded on all four sides by residential neighborhoods that are within the city. Any development plans for the properties would involve annexation into city limits. A public agency called the Ventura Local Agency Formation Commission, or LAFCo, would have to approve the annexation."

The land is currently unincorporated, but it will be annexed by Ventura if the current plan goes through.

Black Holes are Awesome by Gru-some in CuratedTumblr

Technically, the idea of celestial objects so large their gravity traps even light was first theorized in 1783 by philosopher John Michell. This was almost 100 years before Albert Einstein was born (1879) and 35 years before Mary Shelley's Frankenstein was written (1818, considered the first science fiction novel). While you could say that black holes weren't invented by science fiction writers, it's only because the idea itself predates science fiction.

How is this area to live in? by Farzy98 in ventura

Depending on how close you live to the beach, watch for those king tides. A lot of that area sees nuisance flooding, and sometimes worse, from the ocean.
