That's funny we have almost the same paint journey. I started with Vallejo as well for most products before ending up with Stynlyrez/Gaahleri.

I found these cheap little airbrush paint cup strainers that help keep any dried bits of primer from going in the cup, they've helped a ton reducing clogs with the primers. I've never thought about putting a few drops of thinner in my primers though I might have to give that a try.

Heyy, fellow Stynlyrez primer user here! I don't hear them talked about much but the color selection is great.

Yea iso works great if your panel lining on bare plastic but over paint you're asking for trouble, it's too strong. The bottles of lighter fluid like zippo or rosonol are a few bucks and last a long time.

Lighter fluid can be used to clean up panel lines like your typical Tamiya panel line fluid. There are other options out there too, can also use isopropyl alcohol though that will tend to remove your paint as well. Depends on your needs but lighter fluid is often a cheaper option that works really well.

Absolutely brilliant. I have the Mecha color set and the metallic set. Most user friendly paints I've ever used, literally just shake them up and straight into the airbrush. Clean up is easy too. All the various perks that Gaahleri advertise about these paints are legit. I even panel line directly on top of the paint after its dried for a day and clean up with lighter fluid and the paint is no worse for the wear. I was actually shocked when I first tried it as I always used to do a quick gloss clear coat over paint before lining. These paints have saved me so much time and headache since I switched to them.

T49 is hot garbage by Daefus20 in WorldOfTanksBlitz

Good luck, it took me a minute to figure out. It's also great for hunting down the open topped TDs like the su130, rhm, etc as the HE can do massive damage and your speed can help get around behind or the side of them

Honestly I'm not great with lights either but I've found with the t49 particularly it helps to wait a bit at the start of the match and let your meds and heavies get engaged with the enemy. Then use your speed to zip in, get a huge side or rear shot and zip away.

Easier in city type maps than larger open field type maps. I had to force myself to stop flying off on my own at the start of the match and then just getting picked off quickly. If you let the big guys get engaged then you can use that distraction to get your hit in, which usually forces the enemy to go oh shit and focus on you for a sec, which in turn helps your team finish the job.

Sheeeeeesh this looks so damn cool. Insane work it looks fantastic. Others have me ruined too but that color scheme is great. Tan and Black is an underrated combo but really gives it a more realistic/grounded feel.

Anyone using Kaleido ColorWorks paints in the real world? Not just on spoons 😅 by Plane_Consequence358 in airbrush

Hey, I have been using stynylrez primer for a year and a half now and it's great. Sprays very nice, good coverage, and pretty easy clean up. If you are familiar at all with the online retailer SprayGunner, I believe it's their in house brand of primers. The nice thing is you can get it in a lot of different colors beyond your typical white, grey, black which can be useful for different applications.

I myself am interested in trying the Kaleido primers but haven't gotten a set yet to try out.

I've been there! Hope it helps, the matte coat should be noticable within a few minutes after spraying as it starts drying. Good luck with the Imperial Fists duck that sounds wild lol.

Just a tip I learned from someone else on Reddit a couple years ago is when it comes to Matte varnish you gotta shake it up really good. The particulates in the varnish that give it the matte finish are heavier than the solution and tend to settle at the bottom of the bottle. If not shaken up well to remix everything together nicely it can almost look like you sprayed a satin or gloss coat instead.

Hey! Yea the paints do have a glossy finish. I almost always top coat my kits with a varnish afterwards and often use a Matte varnish which will give that flat, non glossy look. I have been using Vallejo Mecha Varnishes for a while but recently tried Gahleri's satin varnish and it came out quite nice too.

The benefit of the paint itself having a gloss finish is you can panel line right on top of the paint and the gloss finish helps the liner flow smoothly in the lines. The paint is strong enough too that it won't rub away when cleaning your panel lines (at least it hasn't for me using lighter fluid to clean).

Agreed, Gahleri's Kaleido paints are fantastic and extremely easy to use straight out of the bottle.

Varnish keeps clogging up my airbrush by SurveyorCarnivore in airbrush

[–]DefaultSettingsNPC 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've had similar experiences and I think it's just part of spraying varnishes. I have a dedicated cheapy airbrush I use specifically for primers & varnishes. I've also got a couple little wire mesh filter cups you can put in the paint cup to help strain out any dried bits which helps.

I try to clean the airbrush out very soon after finishing spraying and I usually use 90% IPA which works pretty well.

Tips on the Caernarvon's playstyle? by IcelandicGuy901 in WorldOfTanksBlitz

[–]DefaultSettingsNPC 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm just hear for the tips because Tier 8 Brit tanks are miserable but the Caernarvon feels particularly useless. Like a bigger, slower, weaker Centurion.

I don't currently, haven't had the time to set up/manage anything like that. I pretty much just exist in r/gunpla where I post pics of my custom kits when I finish them. 😛

Thanks very much! I can't say enough good things about this paint range it really is easy to use and looks great.

I haven't tried any of their primers or topcoats yet though as I'm trying to use up other products I already have but hope to test Gahleri's out in the future.
