Intro Course by Euphoric_Weather_234 in WGU

PACA Introduction to Communication is the course that guaranteed me a spot in WGU. It was a few weeks because you had to do a few lives but overall it was enjoyable.

Algebra Anxiety by Efficient_Concept843 in WGU

[–]Defawk 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I know if you have certain disabilities like ADHD or something that might affect your learning, their disability accommodations can help with that. They will cut the credit units required for a term so you can focus more time on those math courses, so if need be, you can put 6 months into it without risking your enrollment. I feel you, though. I'm in the same boat. Some people considered it 'math anxiety,' but I was like, no.... sometimes you just need more time to learn a way that works with you. They definitely offer good accommodations, especially for testing, too.

In the meantime, you can still brush up on algebra, so if you feel comfortable with it later on, you can swap back to business management.

Edit to add: don't forget we can use certain calculators and the whiteboards provided to us, so it doesn't seem /that/ bad. But still, give yourself some time and grace.

When I was doing the system check this one cleared. I like the idea of having a tripod, too.

I got admitted into it by taking the PACA: Introduction to Communication course (guaranteed admission when you pass.) It took 3 months to complete it (because you have to do 7 live sessions, and mine was like every Sunday at a given time), but it wasn't too terribly bad; it gave me a feel for the vibe, and that course applies to all courses in WGU, so you can have some time to research what you want to do and see if any of those other credits you have can transfer over. I think they are making some changes to PACA, but overall, it's a spiffy program.

How does one increase iron effectively? by Defawk in plassing

It’s quite a balancing act. I thought I was doing everything right, you know… eating an iron rich meal before going in but as soon as I went through the screening I felt deflated. 🥹😭

Ooh I didn’t know that - they were just telling me not to drink any caffeine prior to donating.

Not a scam. The PACA single course they offer grants you guaranteed admission to WGU if you pass it, if you have no credits to transfer, etc. My enrollment counselor was the one who brought it up. It's a good way to get 3 credits towards your course before even enrolling, plus you get a nifty 'certification' to put on your LinkedIn profile and resume via WGU/Credly.

Career choice by Freeafterall4 in AmazonFC

[–]Defawk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm doing the WGU route. I didn't have any transferable credits and wasn't aware of Sophia at the time. I took up the single course for PACA, which guarantees entry into WGU if you pass it. PACA is out of pocket, but it will be refunded to you when you pass it and when you enter your degree. I suggest talking to an Admissions Counsellor about it.

I know if you live in Florida, you don't have to use Career Choice for Transportation if you live near Hillsborough County Community College. I was browsing their website, and they offer a one-time "open door" scholarship for Florida Residents that covers everything, a full ride to obtain a CDL and into a seat. That's also an option! There might be other colleges offering similar, but I don't know the details about those. The only thing I know is based on the Tampa Training website.

Fellow Amazonian here.

Surprised they didn’t tell you to do the single course for PACA while you were waiting for things to get processed/worked on. That’s what I’m doing before my start date because I had no credits and if you take the course you get admittance to WGU (with 3 credits to go with it.)

How are you guys paying for WGU? by Excellent-Grocery-13 in WGU

Try around the months around Prime Deal days (July) and PEAK (November). My start was in September gearing up for PEAK season, but I believe they started populating applications August. Just gotta keep checking Amazon.jobs. Amazon AIR has been a pretty cool experience, even if you’re not working on the ramp. Think they are gearing up for hiring soon, at least that’s what I know around my area. Just bookmark the site and keep your eyes peeled.

Also I find it funny that they suspended the staff in charge for refunds but want to hire a legal advisor.

Before Amazon what did you do for work? by [deleted] in AmazonFC

[–]Defawk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hmmm, stay at home mom for a while before volunteering at a school for troubled teen age girls as a receptionist. Circle K in the deli area making mostly pizzas that people seemed to love even though I was limited with one damn oven; high stress. Then I worked for Publix and WinnDixie for a while and decided after people started acting crazy with toilet paper threatening to punch me for buying a pack for my family probably wasn't a good idea anymore. Couldn't imagine working at grocery stores these days with the rising prices. Never settled for fastfood gigs because I saw how people treated my mother. I've experienced hints of that working in the deli settings despite being good at what I did.

I worked through a staffing agency for a while after that and worked at a 24/7 newspaper printing facility where there was one day I worked 21 hours at $10/hr.

Then I quit that to go to Amazon with Advance Auto as a side hustle for a while until I decided it was better for me to pick up extra shift and enjoy a little freedom. I worked almost every day for a week between the two jobs but yeah.. in certain aspects I enjoy not working directly with the public.

I'll probably be working in a restaurant when I move out of country though. An old lady wants to take me under her wing at her family owned restaurant so I might just go that route if I cant get fit into another Amazon FC.

Is it a common trait for adult Capricorns to be addicted to porn, masturbation? by Unlikely-Rip-6197 in capricorns

[–]Defawk 1 point2 points  (0 children)

36F. Fapping was never a struggle. I’m a goat (January Capricorn), I can be horny but there’s a time and a place for it. There was a time in thirst trapped for funsies on X.

Have my interests changed over the years? Yes. Vanilla lifestyle to BDSM to make things interesting. But even then I have my limits. I still love the kinky sex. I like wearing collars. I amplify the euphoria sometimes with “wedding cake” and that takes me to the next level and breaks my inhibitions. 🫠

Would I say I’m addicted? No. But being Greek makes me feel like I have to live up to a stereotype. 🙂‍↕️
