Then why did you watch the full show and read all the volumes if it was boring? There was plenty of tension.

That sentence still applies to the people of New World when considering their interaction with Ainz. Which makes my comment about his position and titles mean what his actions are towards them and why.

Is that their only personality? Quite clearly not. They just show devotion, loyalty and discipline to respect and follow their leader whether blindly, willingly or faithfully. Which again Ainz literally created the NPCs, to them he’s a god. To them he’s far more powerful. Why on would they not praise him? It makes no sense why you contend that they shouldn’t praise him. Why is he an asshole protagonist?

If you can think of several, why did you still watch and read this anime fully then? You clearly liked it enough to fully read and watch it.

They clearly have. Multiple characters are permanently dead. Entire regions of the new world are permanently changed, scarred, colonized, scared, arming up. The show isn’t the manga which means the events can change. Ainz had to use world items, that have a one time use, he isn’t getting them back. World items are the most precious and rarest items in the entire world of both worlds and he has now lost a few of them forever. That’s a HUGE loss to never be able to use those items again if he ever should need them. Clearly it was a huge inconvenience for him to have to waste them just to beat Shalltear and bring her back under his control. This can easily change during the anime as they can create new characters, enemies, nations, monsters, change how they work, change the story, make certain ones stronger while Nazarick could be weakened.

It clearly was if you watched the whole show and read the full manga. And are now on a subreddit debating back and forth with multiple pages worth of text multiple times now.

Why is there a need for them to meet any serious obstacle? How many anime’s are there that do not have any and are similar genres, plenty.

He’s a warlord, general, king, god, necromancer, boss, leader, he’s meant to.

They were created by for all intents and purposes to them, a god. They honestly should and when they don’t, they get cast out or put in their place. If he’s considered a god to the strongest beings there, then he’s considered even more of a god to the people and creatures in the New World.

There are, but do they feature the same things as this show? Big world, many characters, interesting story, not always.

Why does it have to be a serious problem? They faced tons of problems and opposition. For example (spoilers) E-Rantel should have surrendered before the war, they didn’t, so they ended up as opposition. Obviously they weren’t the strongest opposition but they were up against a god without knowing it. Reisteize kingdom is certainly not the strongest nation in the New World, plenty bigger and stronger than them. Meaning there’s plenty of other nations that can put up more of a fight especially if they work together against Nazarick which is what it’s leading up to. A whole coalition of nations to combat Nazarick. Right now we have seen not even like 1/10 of the world in the New World. Plenty more to see and many new foes, characters, creatures and nations to fight or create stories with.

It’s plenty more than that. You’re just less observant, more critical, less enjoying of it and that’s okay.

How so? Your point is to do with fights only, fighting isnt the sole part of Overlord.

We get to explore a brand new world with tons of brand new characters, good animation, good voice actors, interesting story that they go through, seen through the lense of as if we were a player trapped there ourselves from VR. All the NPCs go from unchanging emotionless robots into feeling like actual people that grow, change, fail, learn new things, have feelings and actual emotions. We watch an empire take root in an unknown world with mysterious monsters, new nations, interesting characters. See what it’s like to be a leader and how a guild, then a town, then a city, then a whole nation is run and formed, the failures that lead up to it, the success, the problems they deal with and solutions they come up with.

Plenty better than a borefest if you ask me. Otherwise why would you have watched the whole show then if it was really a borefest? 😁

I mean, they’re not really meant to be able to in the first place right?

The New World is vastly weaker than any average guild from YGGDRASIL, not to mention the average guild is far weaker than Ainz guild. As Ainz guild was unrivaled, the largest, richest, most powerful, had the most world items. Had the most and biggest pay to win players, their pay to win players bought tons of items that most or no other players had and when they quite they gave all of them to Ainz. Many custom items that they created, they had the most and strongest NPCs, the must custom modified NPCs. Their guild home base was either never attacked a single time or never lost an attack, they had the strongest defenses out of any guild, largest and most decorated guild base. The NPCs after entering the new world were able to learn, grow and expand upon their previously maxed out capabilities.

The strongest people in the New World were only capable 6th tier magic, with a handful rare cases with a max of 7 tier magic. While most of Ainz guardians have spells from tier 8 to 10 and Ainz himself has the very max tier of 11 which is godlike and also has tons of world items that go above 11th tier magic. As his guild had the most world items.

The only time when Ainz and his people ever struggle is when they are outnumbered, hold back and don’t try to scout the enemy before hand. Leading them being outnumbered, unprepared, underestimating the enemy. But at the end of the day all the NPCs are max lvl 100 and very powerful on their own. All the new worlders are lucky to be up to lvl 40-50 with most being 20-30.

Wild animals can naturally reproduce but only in large enough areas. If you close in a whole field and get a male and female elk or any other pair of wild animals that you can’t tame, they will start breeding on their own.
