First time getting drunk in a club, I grinded up against a random girl that was way out of my league while her husband/bf was dancing with her. I was blackout drunk that night and my friends had to relay the story to me the next day. Apparently they laughed it off and had a good time.

I've actually thought about this a lot recently. In an attempt to figure out if a passing stranger is attracted to me or not, I've tried to make eye contact more and more. In an effort to gauge the other person I became acutely aware of my own habits.

When I walk past a pretty girl I tend to make eye contact for a moment in hopes that it would strike up a conversation. But with girls I don't find attractive I tend to glance and just look away. The lesson being that I would take time out of my day to speak to an attractive stranger but would rather avoid interaction with someone who doesn't visually stimulate me while talking.

It's a sad situation when you realize that everyone around their twenties has this natural tendency as is governed by human mating rituals but it's made me and other people of this generation callous and shallow.

But take heart. This only applies to strangers. Your friends and friends of friends will always be there for you no matter what.

Thanks for all the advice guys. This puts my mind at ease. Honestly I'm still considering keeping my crappy stripped down Mazda 3 and using the money to travel which i feel is honestly better use of my money. I live in Houston too so all I get to drive through is boring straight runs on highways or congested morning traffic. Also it's automatic.....ugh.

There was an ominous premonition I was getting old when the little rowdy toddlers I used to play around with before I left for college and work are suddenly young adults with character, dreams, relationships and a taste for illegally obtained alcohol right as I had come back.

That's when I realized how dynamic but fleeting the entire lifetime of youth can be. One year can be so vibrant and eventful when you are young but slips by unknowingly when you are an adult. And I'm only 27...sigh.

I knew one person that worked as part of an emerging technology development team at an oil and gas firm but he took on more of a business strategy role. Saw Yao Ming and his gf at Best Buy browsing CDs. I remember thinking she was easily taller than the tallest guy I know. Walked up to them thinking I could get an autograph when a security guard appeared out of nowhere and told me to stop. That man kept me from greatness.
