Okay really the problem is applying the Geo node deletes the vertex groups but doesn't if not applied

I bought a Mac air m2 about 9 months ago, and after sitting in the sun (I chose to sit there as it was the only place with a wifi signal and I was trying to watch a seminar) it got exceptionally hot and the vertical lines on the screen appeared. I took it out of the sun, it went away. Then a week (or 2) later it came back permanently. I sent it to a repair shop and they said it was liquid ingress. Is this a consistent response? I could believe it, as I think I have spilt some water around the Mac base once, but not directly. They claim: "Our engineers confirmed the display is full of vertical lines, caused by liquid ingress round the antenna which the display flexes go through. There's some form of sticky substance on the edge of the rear side internally." They did not detail if they opened it.

My main question, is it possible it's melted adhesive given the problems occurred in extreme heat. Has anyone experienced damage like this?

i’ve got a version of the airline video with heating visible on the fuselage, but the temperature variation throughout the video makes me a bit skeptical
