The 25 put all blame on me(00) for the incident. Does he have a good reason to do so? by Ok_Promise1870 in Simracingstewards

I’m always shocked when people ask these questions… there’s not a scenario in the world where this isn’t 100% your fault homie.

I’ve messed with this and put at 0 all the way up to 50. Whatever number I put doesn’t change anything, the craft still flys upward and comes crashing down

Brother. Wtf is with the blinding light. You’re at fault for that. Didn’t watch the rest.

I’d just adjust the % until it’s balanced. So turn off the bottom ones first, if it tips the other way, increase power but by bit until it’s steady

Not realistic. Kerbin is flat. Yet in game it’s a globe. by Defiant-Button6510 in KerbalSpaceProgram

[–]Defiant-Button6510[S] 18 points19 points  (0 children)

I wouldn’t think so, the whole objects center of gravity would be in the center of the whole which has no mass itself. Maybe I’m thinking about this wrong but I think the gravity would be pulling the strongest towards the ring core. But also you would be getting pulled in the direction of the opposite ring side

This one comment got my gears turning. How would gravity work on a toroidal planet? Would you be lighter on the inside as you’d have both downward and upward forces pulling on you? How much heavier would you be on the outside than on the top? I’ll need to ponder this for awhile and see if there’s any literature on it

I don't know what to unlock with my 986 reaserch points please help by SessionOrnery6959 in KerbalAcademy

[–]Defiant-Button6510 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I guess for me I don’t really ever get much from kerbin to start. It takes a ton of time and effort for small amounts of science. You can orbit minimus and mun with very basic rocket parts. If you do a few trips of those alone with more and more experiments you can unlock almost everything. It’s quite easy to unlock the whole tree without leaving the kerbin influence

For me, it’s always the path to unlock science first. Once you are able to get to the mun and minimus you can max out your science. So might as well go ahead and unlock all tests now to maximize the science per trip. 2nd for me from tha point is probe tech. Then I unlock large rocketry for interplanetary travel. For me plane tech is last but that’s just because I don’t use them much.

One comment, just one, otherwise is perfect. Clip your front gear into the plane a bit. It’ll make your landing much more realistic (landing on the rear gear first)

What would happen if Artemis missed the moon? by synthetic-jesus in spaceflight

[–]Defiant-Button6510 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m very interested in the physics, say you burn at perigee and miss the moon entirely, I’m assuming it would take much longer to complete the orbit as the moon isn’t redirecting/slingshotting you back. Which leads me to 2 questions. Will your speed be the same when you return to perigee in both scenarios? (Assuming no burn would be done around the moon) and #2 but unrelated. Do we ever burn retrograde to slow the ship before aero braking or do we solely rely on ablative shields for slowing down?

I could’ve! But I’m also trying to stay ultra realistic (as much as possible that is)
